Menopause is a natural transition, yet many women feel they have to navigate it alone. This International Women’s Day, we want to remind you: you deserve to be heard, supported, and empowered with the right care and information.

Well, we've come to the end of the mentoring with Becky and Charlotte at The Specialist Menopause Clinic.

Becky and Charlotte have recently completed the Thrive Programme which is part of the University of Huddersfield 's, Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator.

Janet has loved working with them and supporting them as they get going with their business.

We've helped with general business support, ideas on how to market their business online, in print and face to face. We've help set up social ads and so much more.

Based within Eastthorpe Hall , The Specialist Menopause Clinic will be guiding women throughout the changes faced pre, during and after this vital time in their lives.

Please give their socials a like to help them on their way.

Wishing you all the very best for the future Becky and Charlotte. But as you know Alex and Janet always be here on the side lines cheering you and your business on.

Menopause brings more than just the obvious changes. Here are a few surprising symptoms that you may encounter:

Hormonal changes can affect digestion, leading to bloating, gas, or discomfort

Feeling extra sensitive to sound? It’s a common, but often overlooked, symptom during menopause

Your body’s chemistry changes, sometimes leading to a shift in natural scent

Achy joints or stiffness can be a result of hormonal shifts affecting your muscles and joints

Dry mouth or changes in taste can also be linked to menopause-related hormonal changes

Tingling, itching, or feeling like your skin is "on edge" can happen as your hormones fluctuate

If you’re experiencing any of these, know that they’re common!

Menopause doesn’t just impact your body—it can also affect your mind. Here’s how:

Hormonal shifts can make it harder to focus and remember things

Fluctuating hormones can lead to increased anxiety, irritability, and unpredictable moods

Hot fushes and night sweats can keep you up at night, leaving you tired and restless

It’s important to acknowledge these changes and take steps to manage them. Prioritise rest, mindfulness, and a healthy routine to support your mental health during your menopause

Menopause is a time of change.
Here are some self-care tips to help you feel your best:

Hydration - Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay energised and help manage symptoms like hot flushes and skin dryness.

Nutrition - A balanced diet with plenty of fibre, healthy fats, and protein will help support hormonal health.

Exercise - Move your body regularly! Whether it’s walking, yoga, or strength training, exercise boosts mood, energy, and bone health.

Mindfulness - Take time to relax and de-stress. Meditation, deep breathing, or simply taking a moment for yourself can help manage the emotional changes that come with menopause.

Menopause is diagnosed when a woman has not had a period for 12 consecutive months. The average age for natural menopause in the UK is aged 51. Of course this can alter due to other factors, such as early menopause and chemical or surgical menopause. The time after Menopause is called Post-Menopause.
