I completely understand that the thought of coming to your very first class with your baby or toddler can feel overwhelming. Walking into an unfamiliar room full of new faces at a time when you may already feel vulnerable is not always easy. You might be running on very little sleep, your little one may have missed their nap, you’re worried they might be unsettled, or perhaps they’ll be due a feed halfway through the class. I see you and I’ve been there too. In fact, I’d be lying if I said I still don’t feel nervous going somewhere new on my own!
Our circles are designed to be a safe, welcoming space for both you and your little one. Babies and toddlers are beautifully unpredictable, and just like them, we as adults have days where we don’t feel full of energy either. That’s exactly why our classes are completely led by the little ones.
If your baby needs to stop for a feed, that’s absolutely fine — simply rejoin whenever you’re ready. If they fall asleep, enjoy those precious sleepy cuddles. There is no pressure to follow anything perfectly.
When you arrive for class, you’re welcome to choose any mat you like, take off your shoes, and make yourself comfortable. There are lots of opportunities to chat with others. And if you’d rather just relax and enjoy some quiet time in your own little bubble with your baby, that is completely okay too. Although our classes are different each week, the routine is kept the same so you and your little one can get to know what’s coming next. In baby yoga, I always say, only do what you feel comfortable doing!
You and your little one are so welcome in class 🐻🧡
