A repost: reiterating the need to train according to the sport you play even if you only play on weekends or once in the week. This will reduce injury risk aswell as enable you to play at a better standard.... No sense training like body builder 3x a week to play football on saturday, you may actually be increasing your injury risk with the contrast in these sports. Lancaster

The Iliotibial band is very resilient, however it can become quite irritable especially for runners. The go to is often foam roll or massage but neither are very useful just really painful. The positive changes that are felt form these interventions are quite often from tissue adaptations from the surrounding muscles. Best advice is to skip them and focus on conditioning the surrounding muscle groups.

The iliotibial band is super resilient, but can become very irritable especially for runners. The go to is often faom rolling an ITB massage all these do however it flare you up more and test you pain tolerence. Any positive change that is notice after these interventions come from tissue tolerences around the ITB so best advice is skip them and jump straight to conditioning the surrounding muscles groups.

Ankle sprains can range from a nuisance to debilitating injuries. If you have had a bad one or a few rolled ankles on the same side you may benefit from a program to strengthen and stabilize that ankle.
