We are a nation of over-breathers. When I first ever read that I thought how on earth is it possible to breathe to much. Breath is life we need to breathe as much as possible.

However what most of us don’t realise is we are taking far more breaths per minute than we should. Ideally, we should breathe around 5 to 6 times per minutes that’s slow, calm, and steady. But in reality, many of us are taking 12, 15, even 20 breaths per minute.

We take our breath for granted, we assume it just happens. But when we over-breathe, we stay trapped in a stress response, constantly releasing too much carbon dioxide, keeping us in a state of tension.

Breathwork is a gentle reminder that we can slow down, come back to a balanced rhythm, and break free from that constant state of stress. So today, pause, take a slow, deep breath, and remember, you don’t have to keep up the rush. Let your breath guide you back to calm.

Maybe try it, set a timer don’t change your breath but just keep with your regular breath cycle. See how many times in a minute you breathe.

Then try again really slowing the inhale and exhale see if you can make it 5/6 breaths and notice the difference. How does it feel, what were the different sensations in the body.

Have you ever tried humming your way back to calm?

It might sound simple… believe me it is, what it also is, is a breathing technique that is powerful.

Humming breath (Bhramari) gently stimulates the vagus nerve, helping your body shift out of stress and into safety.

Benefits,
Slows the heart rate.
Calms anxiety and overwhelm.
Releases tension in the face, jaw, and mind.
Creates a soothing vibration through the whole body.

It’s like a massage… but from the inside out.

How to do it:
Inhale slowly through your nose
As you exhale, gently hum (like a soft “mmm”)
Feel the vibration in your face, throat, chest
Let your exhale and you hum be long and slow

Repeat for a few minutes…
and notice how your body responds.

This is your reminder…
calm isn’t something you find, it’s something you create.

Save this for when you need a reset

Did you know, there are emotions your mind can’t process…
but your body remembers.

Breathwork gives these stuck or stored emotions a way to move, a chance for you to create space, to expand rather than staying contracted or the opportunity for energy like the breath to move.

Through conscious breathing:
You move energy.
You release tension.
You let go of what’s been stuck beneath the surface.

It’s powerful.
It’s emotional.
It’s freeing.

And on the other side…
there’s clarity, calm, and a deeper connection to you.

All through something you do every single day… your breath.

I have been doing alot of 1-2-1 breath work sessions recently many over zoom, and the power of the journey home through the breath never ceases to amaze me.

Message me “BREATHE” if you’re ready to expand your breath and make some space.

We decided to do this and last week we were even excited about it. As the weather has turned and the reality set in, we are fearful of spending one wet night outside, yet for some it’s not just one night it’s life.

If you have any spare change to donate to a local charity we would all be mighty grateful.

CH and I are doing some breath work here and some sound therapy so let’s hope that can lift the spirits of those of us choosing when in reality it’s not a choice for many.

Have you ever felt “off”… but can’t explain why?

Low energy.
Heavy emotions.
Disconnected from yourself.

Sometimes it’s not your mind…
it’s your energy asking to be realigned.

Chakra balancing helps bring your system back into harmony.

Grounded
Open
Flowing

When your energy flows… everything else follows.

You’re not meant to feel stuck.

Message me “ALIGN” if you’re ready to come back into balance

Have you noticed we live in a world that teaches us how to achieve…
but not how to recover? Do you find that strange?

All through life we are praised for pushing through, for staying busy, for holding it all together…

But no one really teaches us how to come back to ourselves, when the plates have stopped spinning, maybe even dropped, smashed, or broken. When the life’s we have lived and loved have changed. When the doors have closed, and the new chapters are yet to begin.

And in this space that’s where Soulstar was born.

Self-recovery coaching isn’t a whim, luxury, or a tick box feature. It’s not something to keep putting off, or to do when everything else is done, or even to appease someone else. For me It’s the foundation of everything.

Because you can build the business, hit the goals,
be everything to everyone…

…but if your body is dysregulated, if your nervous system is overwhelmed, if you’re disconnected from yourself…

Nothing will never feel like enough.

I remember being told when I qualified in coaching that this path was too niche.
That people don’t care about self-recovery. That people don’t know they need to recover unless it’s from drugs or alcohol. That people will not understand they need to self recover from their lives, from the world around them, from emotions that didn’t get the chance to process, so are stuck. That’s why we loop, and continue opening the same doors, getting the same results even when we are screaming inside for change.

I was encouraged to stick with success coaching, be a business coach, a confidence coach, a mindset coach, a transformational coach anything but self recovery.

However, I believed and felt, so deeply felt differently.

Because I had lived the burnout, the disconnection,
the “keeping it all together” while falling apart inside.

And I realised this truth…

You can’t think your way into healing. You can’t mindset your way out of what your body is still holding.

Self-recovery is the starting point.

It’s in the massage,
where the body releases what the mind has suppressed.

It’s in the breath,
where emotion begins to move again.

It’s in the pause,
where you finally hear yourself.

Your story lives in your body. In your nervous system. In every experience you’ve carried.

And yet we’ve been taught to override it.
To dismiss it. To keep going.

Self-recovery is choosing to come back.

To feel. To reconnect.
To regulate.

Mind. Body. Energy.

This isn’t “woo.”
This is how we heal.

And the truth is…

We don’t just need success. We need recovery.

Your body isn’t meant to run on stress and survival mode.

Release tension through massage.

Monday morning… madness or message?

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” – Carl Jung

How often do we move through life on autopilot…
reacting, repeating, reliving patterns we don’t even realise we’re carrying?

That tight chest.
That quick reaction.
That familiar story.

It isn’t random.
It’s remembered.

At Soulstar, this is where the work begins…
gently bringing awareness to what’s been running beneath the surface.

Through breath.
Through body.
Through stillness.

Because the moment you become aware…
is the moment you begin to take your power back.

So today ask yourself:
Is this madness… or is it a message trying to be felt?

This weekend wasn’t just self-care… it was self-return.

Friday night slowed me right down. In yin, there’s nowhere to hide. No momentum. No distraction. Just you… and what your body has been holding.

And mine was holding more than I realised.

There was resistance.
Agitation. A quiet tension sitting deeper in my muscles than I’d allowed myself to see.

That’s the thing about the body… it always knows first.

Then came the joy of Saturday night. Mama Mia. The singing, the laughter, the remembering.
Being wrapped in the energy of the people I love, the songs that I grew up with. The version of me that still lives underneath it all.

And tonight…
the exhale.

Breathwork is a conversation with your body. It gives you exactly what you need not what you think you want.

Sometimes it’s gentle.
Soft. Subtle. Safe.

And sometimes…
it breaks you open.

Tonight, I softened.

My body grew heavy,
my edges dissolved,
and I stopped holding.

The rhythm of my breath carried me
long, slow inhales,
extended, surrendering exhales, that circular wave moving through me
again… and again…
and again…

Until there was nothing left to grip.

Just presence.Just release.Just me.

This is somatic healing.
Not fixing. Not forcing.

Feeling. Allowing.
Trusting the intelligence of your body to unwind what the mind can’t reach.

We don’t always need to push forward.

Sometimes… we need to melt, and tonight after a busy few weeks I finally melted.

Don’t follow the hype of Breathwork follow your heart and find what you need. That is the real Somatic Release.

Do you ever sit quietly… and wonder, where did I go?

Not the version of you that gets through the day,
not the one who holds it all together… but her.

The young girl with wild dreams in her chest,
eyes full of wonder,
heart wide open,
believing she could change the world
just by being in it.

She was magic, wasn’t she?

I remember her.

Curled up in stories…
fairy tales read over and over, where love meant safety, where someone always came, where everything made sense in the end.

There was a softness then. A trust. A feeling of being held.

But no one tells you…
about the weight people carry. About the things unsaid, unseen, unfelt.
The way life slowly places its hands on your shoulders and, over time…
you begin to carry things that were never yours to hold.

And so we grow.

Through love that doesn’t stay, through words that linger longer than they should, through moments that crack us open…
and others that quietly close us down.

We learn to hold it in.
To be strong. To keep going.

And somewhere in that holding… we stop expanding.

The breath shortens.
The chest tightens.
The body remembers…
even when the mind tries to forget.

And the magic?

It doesn’t disappear…
it just gets buried beneath the weight of it all.

So we begin to expect less. Feel less. Hope less.

Not because we want to
but because it feels safer there.

But your body knows.
Your heart knows.

There is more than this.
There is more than surviving your days,
more than carrying what was never yours, more than living in a life that feels dimmed.

There is a version of you…
still there… still waiting…
not to be fixed but to be felt again.

To be breathed back into.

To be given space.

Because you were never meant to live a life all held in.

You were made to expand.
To open. To feel. To come alive in your own body again.

And sometimes…
coming home to yourself
isn’t loud or dramatic

it’s a quiet return. A soft unravel. A moment where you finally let go…
of holding it all together.

This is where Soulstar meets you.

Not to change who you are, but to gently guide you back to everything you’ve had to put down.

So if you feel it… that quiet pull, that ache for something more,
that knowing that you’re ready to breathe deeper,
feel lighter, expand beyond the weight you’ve been carrying

maybe this is your moment.

A Spring reset.
A new chapter.
A return.

Because the magic was never gone…
it’s just been waiting for you to come back

It’s been another full week…
a few days deep in training, and a few days held in the calm of The Zenden.

This week I completed a first aid course.
And as I practised CPR, a thought landed heavy…

What if I had known this when I was younger… could I have helped my dad?

It stayed with me.
Because we’re taught so much in school… yet not always what truly matters in life.

The Zenden has been pure magic this week.
A beautiful blend of breathwork, massage and Reiki.

I speak a lot about the breath…
but the truth is, words will never fully touch its power.

When a client drops into conscious breath before treatment, everything shifts.

The body softens.
The mind quietens.
And the nervous system moves out of survival and into safety.

This is where the real work begins.

Because when the nervous system feels safe,
the body stops guarding…
and starts allowing.

That’s when tension releases more deeply,
energy flows more freely,
and healing lands on a whole different level.

I ended the week with a seasonal yin yoga workshop by the sea.

My time. My space to go inward.

And honestly… I was surprised.

My body felt resistant.
Tight. Holding more than I realised.

A reminder that even when we think we’re regulated…
the body always tells the truth.

So I’m listening.

Not pushing into intensity,
but choosing softness.

Gentle breathwork.
Fascia release.
Receiving, not forcing.

Because this work… this journey…
isn’t about going harder.

It’s about learning when to slow down.

Right now, I’m choosing slow.
I’m choosing soft.
I’m choosing to meet myself where I truly am.

And this morning…
we begin with a little energy work
