Help with food
Wirral Foodbank works with local agencies to help people who are struggling to put food on the table. If you need an emergency food parcel, you can call Wirral Brough Council on
0151 606 2005 (select option 4) who can also assess you for help for Wirral Foodbank.

Help with utilities
If you are having problems topping up your gas and electricity because of financial hardship, you should contact your energy supplier.
We can only help with your gas and electricity if your need is urgent, and you are on a pre-payment meter.

Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
Call the Emergency Duty Team on 0151 677 6557 to report abuse, neglect or an adult at risk if it is past 5pm Monday to Friday, or it is a weekend or bank holiday. If services are required urgently, a social care professional can provide a temporary service without a needs assessment.

Over December and January WIRED have the following out of hours services available over and above the normal service provision. WIRED’s standard carer support services will close for the festive period on the 24th December at 1pm and re-open on 2nd January 2026 at 9am. The additional provision below will be available to support carers whilst normal carer support services are closed.

In recognition of Carer’s Rights Day at the end of November, Healthwatch Wirral designed a survey for Carers to complete to tell us what is important to Carers in terms of healthcare and what else they may like information about.

We ask you to please share this link to our Carers survey with people that you know; friends, colleagues, family and any other contacts. This survey is open to ALL unpaid Carers, and is live until midday Friday 19th December 2025 - click here to complete the Carer’s Survey.
