🎉 Room 1 is looking fab and just waiting on the finishing touches — now it’s full steam ahead with Room 2, which is already getting its first coat of paint! 🖌️✨

We’re riding that Friday feeling and working hard to get everything ready so we can welcome our superstars back for even more Shack fun! 💫

🚧 Just a quick heads-up: The Shack will be closed this weekend while we keep the refurb rolling.

Happy Monday! 👋🌈

It’s been very quiet around here without our superstars… and I could’ve done with a few of them today while battling the world’s biggest ceiling! 🎨😂

My neck may never forgive me…but it will be worth it to create the best space I can for everyone! 💛

So here’s a little challenge for you: can you guess the colour theme we’ve picked for our very first room? 💭✨

As we wrap up the week, we’re also wrapping up the summer and saying a heartfelt goodbye to a very special member of our Shack team — the wonderful Anne. 💛

Anne’s positivity, dedication, and genuine care for the kids have made the Sensory Shack feel less like a service and more like a family. Even though I’ve only had the joy of working with her since August, it was clear from day one how loved and valued she is and what a special person she truly is!

We know she’ll continue to spread her kindness and joy wherever life takes her, but for now, we just want to say thank you and wish her all the luck in the world. You’ll always be part of our Shack family, Anne and we also hope (fingers crossed) you’ll never be too far away! ✨

🌟 Happy Sunday, everyone! 🌟

We’re so excited to launch our brand-new After School Club on 20th September — can you believe it’s already here? 🎉

📅 Running every day from 4:00–5:30pm, our sessions will be carefully grouped so children can enjoy activities with peers of similar needs, interests, and (where possible) the same schools.

🥪 Each child will also receive a tasty snack and a drink — just let us know about any dietary requirements.

✨ Spaces are limited, so if you’re interested in your child joining our After School Club, let us know soon — we can’t wait to welcome them!

✨ What a fabulous new drop in service! ✨

It could be of real interest to our wonderful families. The work that Linking Pathways does is truly amazing – supporting, connecting, and making a real difference. 💜

Looking ahead to September, we are pleased to announce the launch of a free weekly Mental Health Support Drop-In Service for parents and carers.

🗓 Every Thursday, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 56 Chester Street, starting 4th September

This new service offers parents and carers the opportunity to speak confidentially with a qualified mental health therapist in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Whether you’re navigating stress, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or just need someone to talk to, our drop-in service is here to provide practical support and compassionate guidance.

Support tools available include:
• One-to-one emotional check-ins
• Stress and anxiety management strategies
• Parenting support and coping techniques
• Mindfulness and grounding exercises
• Signposting to additional community resources and services

We believe that when we care for ourselves, we’re better able to care for others.
This space is for you to pause, reflect, and receive support without judgment or pressure.

No appointment necessary. Just come as you are!

Hi everyone I just thought I’d address a few concerns I know that parents may be having due to the slight changes,

First and foremost I will be in touch with all our existing parents next week, as I’d like to clarify what I mean by the slight changes we’ll be making from 15th September onwards .

My aim is to group children by their needs and abilities so that every child—both new and existing—can get the very best out of their sessions. This is not about replacing or prioritising new families; it’s about making sure all children benefit fully from the time they spend with us.

As Sinead explained a little while ago, the Shack has been under real financial pressure due to high running costs, session fees not covering expenses, and a lack of external funding. Sadly, this is still the case today. I joined to help ensure the Shack can remain open, because while a slight change to session timings may feel unsettling in the short term, losing the Shack altogether would be far more detrimental—and that’s something I’m determined to prevent.

The adjustments being introduced are designed to help us support as many children and families as possible, at a time when services across Wirral and Merseyside are already so limited. Where session times do shift slightly, those decisions are made carefully, with the needs of children, families, staff, and overall logistics all taken into account.

I truly understand that change can be difficult, but I hope you can see these steps are being made with the bigger picture in mind: keeping the Shack open long term, and ensuring it continues to be a place where children can thrive.

✅ This will help us to book your child into a regular slot/s that best suits their needs, which will be secured for them during term time.

✅ To make sure your child’s slot is reserved from 15th September onwards, please complete the form as soon as possible.

✅ Once the register of interest form is completed, Ellie will be in touch with details of your child’s allocated session/s for the term! 💌

✨ This means your child will have a consistent session each week, without the worry of changing times or availability — helping to create a steady, reliable routine for our Shack Superstars! ✨

☀️ Wow… where has summer gone?! We’ve had the BEST time with our Shack Superstars and we’re not slowing down anytime soon! 🎉

✨ Here’s what’s coming up for the rest of 2025:
👉 After School Club – keep the fun going all term long!
👉 Shack Disco Fridays – music, lights & laughter to kick off the weekend.
👉 Sibling Group – so no one misses out + a chance to connect with others who get it.
