THE FESTIVE OVERWHELM
Right about now you may be starting to feel the festive overwhelm…
Alongside your extremely busy everyday life, suddenly comes a list of a million things you must achieve in order to be ‘prepared’ for the holidays.
You need to make sure everyone has the perfect gifts,
the house is Christmas card ready,
the festive events are catered for and planned to a tee
and not to forget you must look GREAT too.
Sitting down to make a list can be panic inducing.
You are only one human.
It is not possible to triple your workload and survive.
Something must give and that’s usually your mental wellbeing.
Well let me tell you this…
The festive season is supposed to be a ‘feeling’.
An atmosphere of love, kindness and celebration.
A time of peace, PEACE!
Not stress,
peace.
It should not matter who gets what,
it should not matter what anyone eats,
it should only feel that a door is open
and a house is welcoming,
full of love and ‘goodwill to all’.
It is very hard to break free from the festive binds we have fashioned for ourselves over the years but I think we should.
I think we should strive to remember what the point of all of this is,
Peace.
Love
Goodwill.
Everything else is frosting, if you can, go for it.
But if you are mentally absent because your to-do list is taking up too much head space, then what is the point my friend?
We don’t know how many festive seasons we have been allocated in this life, so let’s not waste another year in stress, burnout and misery.
Whisper to your self over and over, peace, love and goodwill to all, and you will be just fine 💜🙏🏻
