Just some highlights from this week at Stix

New faces, barefoot walk and lots of insect life! 🤎

One more week of under 5’s sessions before we break-up for week beginning 18th May.

If you haven’t heard of Stix before here is a little about me and what I offer down at Busbys Meadow.

All bookings for sessions are through Moulton Library - Health and Wellbeing Hub

Forest session’s for under 5’s are term-time and run on a Wednesday and Friday morning at the meadow.

Block booking available at the beginning of each term and thereafter ad-hock is available.

If you’re new here…I’m Sam and I run a small outdoor play business called Stix at Busby’s Meadow, Moulton.

A little bit about me…

🤎 Wife, mother of 2 children and 2 guinea pigs (Branston and Pickle)
🤎 20 years early years experience
🤎 Worked outdoors for the past 8years
🤎 Trained as a Forest School Leader in 2022
🤎 Hobbies: gardening, music, crafts, thrifting, baking (when I have the time 😉) and reading
🤎 Favourites things: Adventures/walks with my family, my dungarees, garden and hammock, toasted sandwiches and a good take away coffee.

I started Stix just last year in November 2025 and I adore the small community I have built so far. I am enjoying the journey as it grows and I am feeling excited for the months to come as we move into Spring/Summer.

I feel very grateful to have this opportunity to create this space for children and their families, providing time and place to connect with each other and nature. 🌱🫶

Wedneday or Friday family sessions available for primary age children May half-term available .

1 adult to 2 children max. 1st child full price, 2nd child half-price. Babies in arms are free with a full paying child.

The weather at Busbys Meadow has been lovely this week and a calmness has filled the air as the children have been exploring!

It’s amazing with time and space so many new discoveries of life have been found by the children and their parents, either in our stream or surrounding wild grass area…freshwater shrimp, shield bug and caterpillar to name a few.

What else will we find next week?

Hedgehog Awareness Week!

4th-10th May

Today we learnt that hedgehogs
🦔 Can run, climb and swim
🦔 Only come out at nighttime
🦔 They have good hearing and sense of smell
🦔 When they frightened they roll up in a ball
