It’s been 5 months since my surgery and recovery is going onwards and upwards! 4 Week Post Op update!

It’s hard to believe that four weeks have already passed since my operation! The swelling is gradually going down, and in another 2-4 weeks, I’ll be moving on to the next stage of having the processor fitted🙂 . In the meantime, I’m staying positive and focused on the journey ahead!

I also want to share more of my story to encourage others, talking about unexpected improvements and discoveries along the way, overcoming challenges, and offering advice for anyone going through their own recovery. 🤕. We are stronger together!

Ruth is through the surgery, which went well, and been discharged. She's taken her cuddly capybara back home, to recover from the nausea and dizziness caused by anaesthetic, and to let the implant fuse to the skull, and skin to heal. Doctor's orders are ten days rest now.

🌟 Ruth checking in to the hospital today for her operation tomorrow (9.30am Malaysia time, 1.30am UK time) - it was a family affair! She's feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, but is ready to take this next step on her journey! Thanks for all the support- without you, this would not have been possible! 🙏💖

What is the surgery going to do? Watch the video attached, or read the transcript of Ruth explaining using her demo kit:

Transcript: "So this is the receiver and this is the processor, so what the operation will do is put the receiver so it lies flat against my skull, anchored by a little screw and then this will be completely underneath my skin. Then in 3-6 weeks depending on how long recovery takes they can fit the processor on the outside, which will allow me to hear again."
