Ahhhh the sweet relief of Mat-leave!
Something I didn’t get last time round as monkey jumped out early, but this little lady seems pretty comfortable in there so I’m just making the most of it.

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 + 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐧 = 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐍!
Incase you wanted to whip up a super easy baby blanket here’s the pattern I’m using (from memory):
•magic circle
•ch3, 2dc, ch 3, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, slpst into top of ch3
•turn
•ch3, 2dc into ch1space, ch3, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, slpst into top of first chain.
•this pattern then repeats, the corners are a 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, and the sides are 3dc, ch1
• You just keep going until you get the size you want.
•if you’re going to colour change then do it on the slpst into the top of the chain so it’s neat to start the next round
• I find working with a 6-8mm hook most satisfying as it builds super fast.
• you could easily do this with htrb crochets or even singles if you wanted a much smaller tighter pattern.
•as this is a squishy yarn I’ll probably leave it with the holes but you could always back it with a fleece or cotton sheet if you wanted.
I am literally SOOOOOO excited to be making again now I’ve slowed down my teaching and have a reason to be home 🩷
I’ll be raising money for charity this October as I do every year. It’s a super important charity to my heart, supporting baby loss, NICU babies and just promoting awareness for all the difficult things that aren’t talked about in parent hood.
