Due to the weather starting to change we are now starting to get quite busy with Firewood orders for Winter 2024 as people start to fill up their log stores.
We have allocated delivery days in certain areas throughout Cheshire.

All our logs & kindling are fully seasoned and ready to burn and include free delivery & wheelbarrowed to your log store.

Single loads start from £100
Double load £180
Kindling £6 a net or 4 for £20

We have been trading for over 10 years and pride ourselves on service and the quality of our timber - we still have existing customers we deliver to from back in those early days. We supply trade to pubs and to many residential properties locally.

All our timber is sustainably sourced and is a mixture of mainly hardwood from the site clearance works we are involved with.

🍃 Woodchippings 🪴

We often get asked for woodchippings.
This is an example of a load that has been through our woodchipper and chipped into our truck.
We sell at £40 a tonne delivered and this is an example of slightly more than 2 tonne.
We can deliver locally free of charge.

We are constantly trying to find new ways to minimise manual handling on site and around the yard. The fixed rotator grab on our mini digger is the ultimate ‘back saving’ tool for the job. This setup gives us the ability to select and separate timber as well as feed woodchippers.
We also hire out this machine with operator working alongside other tree surgeons.

We have a Posch Firewood processor that we use for straight lengths of timber from site clearance work. It’s ideal for handling 12ft lengths of clean timber up to 15 inch diameter. It rarely gets used due to most of our timber being rings and smaller sections but it’s handy when we need it and warrants it being here.
Here it is with the Wife on the joysticks.

Our main log splitter we use for splitting firewood is a custom built Multec Engineering unit. I’ve always used Multec as they appear to stand the test of time and I like Darrens configuration. The table is 7ft long offset which allows us to stack rings up ready to be split. We built a customised PTO power pack running off my 1962 MF 35 3 cylinder perkins engine tractor. We uprated everything: valve block, hoses, couplings and hydraulic tank. This allows us a good flow rate at 540 rpm for maximum efficiency whilst still keeping hydraulic temperatures as low as possible.

A couple of months ago we were asked to clear this timber away from a site for a local tree surgeon. The access was poor and it was a good distance to the truck and trailer that was transporting it back to the yard. The avant would have taken quite some time piece by piece in the grab so I used one of the old tractors from my collection a 1969 MF135 Narrow and a quad bike trailer. In total there was around 35 cubic metres removed from site.
It is all softwood and ultimately will go for kindling sticks.

There’s always cages of logs to be moved as we rotate stock around the barn. We’d be lost without the Avant due to its amazing lift capacity and manoeuvrability. A conventional forklift wouldn’t work on our outside yard space due to ground conditions and a telehandler would be simply too big in the barn stacking cages.

We have been busy processing logs over the last few weeks and months. We work between 2 yards to try and make life a bit easier logistically depending on where the raw timber is being sourced from.
Here we have our Ford 7610 moving full cages. I purchased this tractor 10 years ago and it’s been a great loyal servant over the years.

We offer commercial grounds maintenance as part of what we do and last week we ventured off to Rhyl for one of our long standing clients who has various depots across the North West. This site had been neglected for quite some time and was long over due a spring clean.
