🔥🔥 PRICE FREEZE!🔥🔥
A fuel supplier with no price increase!! 👏

Evening all.
I just thought I’d jump on here to write a quick post in relation to what’s been going with fuel prices at the minute. Just when we thought the firewood season was drawing to a close world leaders decide to have their say! 😩

Unfortunately for a lot of my customers at this time temperatures have dropped once again and the log stocks they thought would last until the summer are looking more and more vulnerable 🥶
The orders have been coming in thick and fast this week and we are working our way through them…

Like yourselves I too am experiencing greater fuel expenses on my deliveries and more costs regards to running machinery in the yard. Diesel is one of my biggest outgoings within the business. I continue to push harder on the logistics side of things with deliveries in certain areas on certain days throughout Cheshire to maximise efficiency.

I will not be increasing my prices for the rest of this season. We are all in this together and hopefully it will all sort itself out. 🤞🏼

I would like to thank you all for your support in the 25/26 season. For a small business it has been greatly appreciated.

Due to the weather starting to change we are now starting to get quite busy with Firewood orders for Winter 2025 as people start to fill up their log stores.

We have allocated delivery days in certain areas throughout Cheshire.

All our logs & kindling are fully seasoned and ready to burn and include free delivery & wheelbarrowed to your log store. Sustainably sourced mixed loads.

Single loads start from £100
Double load £190
Kindling £6.50 a net

🍃 Woodchippings 🪴

We often get asked for woodchippings.
This is an example of a load that has been through our woodchipper and chipped into our truck.
We sell at £40 a tonne delivered and this is an example of slightly more than 2 tonne.
We can deliver locally free of charge.

We are constantly trying to find new ways to minimise manual handling on site and around the yard. The fixed rotator grab on our mini digger is the ultimate ‘back saving’ tool for the job. This setup gives us the ability to select and separate timber as well as feed woodchippers.
We also hire out this machine with operator working alongside other tree surgeons.

We have a Posch Firewood processor that we use for straight lengths of timber from site clearance work. It’s ideal for handling 12ft lengths of clean timber up to 15 inch diameter. It rarely gets used due to most of our timber being rings and smaller sections but it’s handy when we need it and warrants it being here.
Here it is with the Wife on the joysticks.

Our main log splitter we use for splitting firewood is a custom built Multec Engineering unit. I’ve always used Multec as they appear to stand the test of time and I like Darrens configuration. The table is 7ft long offset which allows us to stack rings up ready to be split. We built a customised PTO power pack running off my 1962 MF 35 3 cylinder perkins engine tractor. We uprated everything: valve block, hoses, couplings and hydraulic tank. This allows us a good flow rate at 540 rpm for maximum efficiency whilst still keeping hydraulic temperatures as low as possible.

A couple of months ago we were asked to clear this timber away from a site for a local tree surgeon. The access was poor and it was a good distance to the truck and trailer that was transporting it back to the yard. The avant would have taken quite some time piece by piece in the grab so I used one of the old tractors from my collection a 1969 MF135 Narrow and a quad bike trailer. In total there was around 35 cubic metres removed from site.
It is all softwood and ultimately will go for kindling sticks.

There’s always cages of logs to be moved as we rotate stock around the barn. We’d be lost without the Avant due to its amazing lift capacity and manoeuvrability. A conventional forklift wouldn’t work on our outside yard space due to ground conditions and a telehandler would be simply too big in the barn stacking cages.
