Like many today, we spent the morning remembering those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

We represented the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust on parade in Nayland alongside Nayland Fire Station.

We will remember them.

We are truly grateful to the Bures Music Festival for such a generous grant.

The donation will be used to replace our aging CPR manakins and training defibrillators. We use these ourselves while doing our clinical training, and also while providing basic life support training to community groups.

Thanks goes to everyone who helped raise this money by supporting such a fantastic event, either by attending or volunteering throughout the year.

A massive “thank you” to the Essex Freemasons for donating a sizeable sum to the East of England Ambulance Service Charity to get 3 new Community First Responder cars on the road.

Once booked on from their base locations, the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust control room place the cars in high priority areas to help improve response times.

As these vehicles are deployed to busy areas they can see a high volume of calls, so our responders volunteer to undertake extra shifts on these vehicles to help keep their clinical skills sharp.

🤩 Check out these snazzy new community response cars that are now on the roads across Essex. This has been made possible thanks to an incredibly generous £100,000 donation from the Essex Freemasons - we cannot thank you enough!

These cars will be used by volunteer community first responders (CFRs) to reach patients faster in 999 medical emergencies, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas. When every second counts, these cars will make sure help gets there quickly, giving the patients vital medical care and reassurance to both them and their families.

“These cars are far more than just a vehicle; they’re lifelines in their communities,” said Kate Lott, Head of Charity.

While most of us were still in bed at 7am on Tuesday morning, Kevin and Mark were setting off on a 26 mile sponsored walk for our charity.

Kevin is Captain of the Men's Senior Golf Team at Stoke by Nayland Resort and chose us as the Captain's charity for 2025, after hearing about the calls our volunteers had been responding to.

7 1/2 hours later, after taking in the sights of Trimley Nature Reserve, Ipswich Waterfront and Pin Mill, Kevin and Mark reached the end of their walk and were rewarded with a well deserved beverage.

It's only with the help and generosity from people like Kevin, Mark and all the members of the Men's Senior Golf Team, that we can continue to respond and help save lives.

These thoughtful gifts have been handed over to two of our responders this morning as a thank you for treating a patient recently.

The patient's family wanted to pass on their gratitude after our volunteers were first on scene, before handing the patient over to the care of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Volunteer Team Leader for the Nayland Community First Responders Adam said, "We don't expect to receive such wonderful gifts, but it is very rewarding to know we have helped make a difference and supported a member of our local community in their moment of need."
