Led by the Resuscitation Council UK, October the 16th is Restart a Heart Day.

This year we will be holding two Basic Life Support (BLS) sessions, free to members of the public, in October, to give you the opportunity to learn how to use an AED (defibrillator) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Supported by the East of England Ambulance Service Charity who help us provide these sessions to local residents, by our trained East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust first responders.

To book your free place, follow the link below to our Eventbrite page.

A big thank you to the Nayland Community Council for funding the use of the Village Hall, allowing these sessions to remain free to local residents.

During the early hours of Friday morning one of our responders passed the milestone of 1000 hours booked on duty this year.

All our responders are volunteers so these hours are given for free to help save lives in the local community.

Throw Back Thursday to when our group had a tour of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) base in Essex.

HART clinicians receive additional training to deploy to water incidents, casualties at height, and casualties in confined spaces, to name just a few.

This is a picture of us being shown an isolation stretcher, used to transport and treat patients with high consequence infectious diseases.

The high risk nature of where HART deploy means there is a very low chance we would be deployed to the same type of emergency as them, so we were very grateful to be given an expert insight into the work they do.

These thoughtful gifts have been handed over to two of our responders this morning as a thank you for treating a patient recently.

The patient's family wanted to pass on their gratitude after our volunteers were first on scene, before handing the patient over to the care of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Volunteer Team Leader for the Nayland Community First Responders Adam said, "We don't expect to receive such wonderful gifts, but it is very rewarding to know we have helped make a difference and supported a member of our local community in their moment of need."

Last week we stopped by The Eight Bells in Bures to present them with a certificate for the fantastic fundraising they have recently been doing for our charity.

Your generous donations help us fund essential medical supplies, uniform and training equipment.

A huge thank you again to the staff and patrons for supporting us in saving lives.

We are truly grateful to have been chosen as the Captain's charity of the year for the Men's Senior Golf Team at Stoke by Nayland Resort.

Today some of our volunteers were invited as guests of the Captain to lunch at the venue.

Afterwards our volunteers gave a talk on the work our charity does, how we are funded, and how donations are spent.

Thank you to the Captain and all those on the team for their generosity and hospitality.

We need your help! 🫡

We’re on the lookout for amazing raffle prizes to be used this September at the Stars of EEAST awards. It’s an incredible night that celebrates the outstanding staff and volunteers of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust which is supported by the charity.

On the night, the charity will be holding a raffle and all the funds raised will go directly to supporting the dedicated 999 heroes. πŸš‘πŸ’š
