🎃 Pumpkin Finger Tracing – A Halloween Calm-Down Activity! 🧘‍♀️✨

This Halloween, mix a little mindfulness magic with your pumpkins! 🧡

👆 Try Pumpkin Finger Tracing:
Hold a small pumpkin (or a picture of one you’ve drawn!) in your hands.
✨ Use your pointer finger to trace the grooves of the pumpkin.
🌬️ Breathe in slowly as you trace your finger up one groove.
😮‍💨 Breathe out slowly as you trace down the next.
Keep going all the way around your pumpkin — feeling calm, focused, and ready for more spooky fun! 👻

🎨 Make it your own!
Children can draw or design their own pumpkins, then use their artwork as a breathing pumpkin to practise slow, mindful breathing.

🎃👻 Spooky Half Term Yoga Fun! 👻🎃

No classes this week but that’s doesn’t mean can’t try some yoga at home.

Looking for a little calm and creativity this half term? 🧘‍♀️✨
Here are a few fun Halloween Yoga poses and breathing ideas to try at home with your little ghosts and ghouls:

🧙‍♀️ Witch’s Broom Pose (Warrior III) – Pretend you’re flying through the night sky!
🕷️ Creepy Crawly Spider (Tabletop with wiggle fingers) – Crawl slowly and stretch those arms wide.
🎃 Pumpkin Pose (Child’s Pose) – Curl up small and take 5 slow pumpkin breaths in and out.
🐱 Black Cat Stretch (Cat Pose) – Arch your back and hiss out any spooky energy!
👻 Ghost Breaths – Breathe in deeply and exhale with a soft “woooooo” sound — calm and spooky!

It’s the perfect way to move, giggle, and relax together this half term. 🍁💫

✨What an uplifting and heartwarming evening with the wonderful Donna Ashworth ✨

Her words have resonated with me ever since I first picked up For the Women during maternity — every poem felt like it spoke right to my soul. 💛 her books are firm favourites in my house.

I often share verses from her beautiful books in my yoga classes; they flow so naturally alongside themes of calm, connection, and self-kindness. Her children’s meditation is such a lovely addition — I can already imagine weaving it into my sessions with the little yogis. 🌙✨

So grateful to have met her in person — such an inspiring evening filled with warmth, wisdom, and words that truly land. 💫

🌍💚 World Mental Health Day 💚🌍

This week in our Flow & Grow Yoga classes, we’ve been exploring the theme of mental health and emotional awareness — helping children understand that looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies. 🧠✨

Through yoga, stories and discussion, we talked about our feelings — from happy and excited to sad, worried or angry — and how each one is normal and valid. We expressed emotions through poses, used our breath to calm and reset, and learned that yoga can help us find balance inside and out. 🧘‍♀️💛

I’m so excited to be opening up new toddler yoga sessions soon 💕 These classes are such a special opportunity to slow down, have fun, and really connect with your little one.

Toddler yoga is playful, gentle, and filled with songs, stories, and movement. It’s not about doing “perfect poses” – it’s about creating moments of laughter, building confidence, and strengthening that beautiful bond between you and your child. 🌸

The benefits go far beyond the mat:
🌈 Encourages coordination and body awareness
💭 Helps toddlers learn to relax and self-regulate
💞 Builds secure attachment through shared experiences
😊 Boosts mood and wellbeing for both parent and child

Behind this door, I spent yesterday at a retreat, giving myself the time to pause and reflect. 🍂✨ It was the perfect way to flow into autumn and prepare for the season ahead.

I’m feeling inspired and ready to share that same sense of calm and grounding in my upcoming sessions.
