Newcastle Kingergarten have had a fantastic week celebrating 100 years of stoke!

We have explored our senses, tasting oatcakes and exploring clay. We have had a penalty shoot out Stoke vs Vale ⚽️, created Reginald mitchel spitfires and joined in the record breaking tea party. 🎉

We have explored the story ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ in the moon room this week, as part of ‘Our favourite story topic’ 🧸

We have enjoyed a range of sensory experiences including, creating our very own bare foot walk, making bear masks and pancakes. We have also been on our own bear hunt and so much more, really bringing the story to life for our little people.

Before children learn to write, they have to go through a series of developmental stages, growth and opportunities, enjoying the process in order for them to become competent and confident writers.

This process should never be forced or rushed.

Children need to develop the skills to move their body in a range of movements, strength in their upper body and dexterity in their wrists, hands and fingers to name a few. When learning is facilitated by skilled practitioners, children become confident in their own ability and eager to learn new skills.

Practitioners at the kindergarten group are highly skilled at meeting children where they are at, helping them to foster a love of learning from the very beginning.
