Sad to say goodbye to Aneela and Kit as they finish their fellowships at the RVI Breast Unit and move on to begin their consultant breast surgeon careers in Trinidad and Bristol. 🌍✨

Booked in for breast surgery?💖

Whether it’s a reduction, augmentation, uplift, or another procedure, being well-prepared can make all the difference to your recovery and peace of mind.

✅ Before surgery – Stop smoking (8 weeks prior) and ni****ne va**ng (4 weeks prior), avoid aspirin/anti-inflammatories (10 days before), and follow your surgeon’s advice on any other medications.

✅ Pack for comfort – Loose button-up clothing, supportive post-op bra, slippers, toiletries, comfy nightwear, any medication, and little extras like headphones, books, or snacks.

✅ The day before – Take a bath/shower, avoid alcohol, prep easy meals, remove nail polish, and follow any fasting instructions.

✅ On the day – Arrive with a loved one (you won’t be able to drive for 24 hours), and let us take care of the rest.

With decades of experience, I ensure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and supported before, during, and after surgery.

Exercising after breast surgery? Start slow. Heal strong.

Wondering when you can get back to your workouts after breast surgery? It’s essential to take things step by step:

Gentle walking is encouraged soon after surgery to support circulation and recovery.

Around 4 weeks, most patients can begin light exercise.

At 6–8 weeks, you may gradually reintroduce heavier or upper-body workouts — but always listen to your body and your surgeon’s advice.

Wearing a high-quality, supportive bra during recovery is key to protecting your results and minimising strain.
