Baptism in Rehab
Yesterday Trish and I had the great pleasure to attend the baptism of 9 guys in the Remar Rehab in Tipperary. (A year ago we lived and ministered there for over a year.)
The testimonies that the lads gave were so pure, so captivating and so real. Well done guys, we are so proud of you all. J&T 💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️

What does it mean to give your life for a cause or a nation or for the Gospel?
Passing through Newcastle, Co Down I saw this war memorial. It made me pause and think about the price we pay and why we pay it. To give your life in war is for the freedom of generations to come.
To give your life for the gospel's sake is to live for others, to love them, to give of yourself and your resources, to leave the 99 to rescue the one, to go the extra mile, to do what you can to help the broken, the addicted, the homeless, the down on their luck, the suicidal, it means that you will fight for them, protect them, chase the wolves away and rescue them from toxic environments. Yes this will cost you everything. A proper ministry or church will reflect your sacrifice. John 15v13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. They crucified Jesus for living and dying like this. Will you? (Selah)

Just a thought before I sleep tonight. What is recovery? It's about finding unpleasant truths about yourself and becoming humble enough to face them and change. It's about looking through your past and finding good memories that balance you, it's about making decisions that stop dead trauma's attempt to paralyse you.
It's about learning to love yourself before loving others. It's about trusting God when you're absolutely at the end of yourself. Recovery is always about having a fear or reverence for God. It's always reminding yourself that God loves you and that you are justified by faith. It's about realising that you are a partaker in the divine nature. Recovery is about finding the gift of perseverance even when people come against you and say or do horrible things to you. Recovery is about loving yourself and others even in times of deep brokenness, grief or even terrible illness. Recovery is about having values and vision that relies on Gods revealed compassion to live your life on reaching out to others in whatever way you can and help them too to live their lives.
