Spent a lovely couple of hours working on the fabulous Buie.
He loves his bodywork sessions and is ready for whatever his person (Sarah ) asks of him.

Looking back now, my hoof care journey really began before I was ever thinking about hooves. It began when my fell pony Reiver, then a 5 year old, was diagnosed with 'Calcinosis Circumscripta', a rare calcium deposit, which in his case unfortunately showed up in his stifle joint. Alongside this, he....

šŸŽāœØ Golden Slippers: One of Nature’s Quiet Miracles
Foal slippers, often lovingly called ā€œGolden Slippers,ā€ are one of the most fascinating and lesser-known details of a foal’s earliest moments of life.

When a foal is born, its hooves are not yet hard or sharp. Instead, they are encased in a soft, rubbery capsule, known as a hoof capsule. This unique adaptation plays a vital role during birth, protecting the mare from injury as the foal passes through the birth canal. Nature’s design at its finest—gentle, purposeful, and perfectly timed.

These delicate slippers are fleeting. The moment they are exposed to air, they begin to dry, shrink, and deteriorate, which is why capturing an image of them must be done quickly. Within hours—and sometimes minutes—the transformation begins.

As the foal takes its first wobbly steps, the soft capsules gradually wear away, revealing the strong, solid hooves we recognize in adult horses. Watching this change unfold is nothing short of remarkable—a reminder of how quickly life adapts once it meets the world.

Foal slippers are a beautiful symbol of new beginnings, resilience, and the incredible details hidden within equine life. For those lucky enough to witness them, it’s a moment that never loses its magic. šŸ¤šŸ“

Well, after Brens bodywork session on his tmj/ whole head, he's so chilled today.
Bren started to get a bit nippy with his mouth and biting the wooden fences( any hard surfaces), I felt this could be him holding tension in his head due to a abscess he has a couple of weeks ago, so decided to give him a sacrial session. Today he was so chilled! And so far no nipping or fence bitting šŸ˜…

At last we have a reasonable straight yawn after doing some bodywork on this lovely ex race horse, Timmy.
Timmy came off of the track 18 months ago, slowly but surely we have been working to get his body released from restrictions and racing patterns. Big difference today I'm happy to say.
