☀️ With British Summer Time starting this weekend, day length increases and crops gain more opportunity to intercept light and drive photosynthesis.
Longer days support:
🌱 Increased photosynthetic activity
🌱 Greater energy production (ATP)
🌱 Faster biomass accumulation
But as growth accelerates, so does demand.
Crops require a consistent and accessible supply of nutrients to convert this additional light into biomass - particularly nitrogen, magnesium and phosphate.
In many cases, the limitation isn't total nutrient supply, but availability and uptake efficiency in the root zone.
Supporting nutrient availability and utilisation during this period helps ensure crops can fully respond to improving conditions.
