Please note we will be closed from 11.30 today for Dr Yule's funeral.

He will be making his final journey past the surgery at approximately 1.15 so if you would like to wish him a final farewell please start to congregate from the bottom of Durham Road by Boots right up to the surgery. We are trying to ensure that there is enough room on Stafford Road so we have put chairs out to stop people parking there. If you are parked at the lower end of Stafford Road near the surgery if you could move your car we would be grateful as it will ensure clear passage for Dr Yule and the family cars. Can we ask that the gates be kept clear for staff please?

It is going to be very warm today so please stay safe.

Finally I would like to thank our patients, fellow surgeries, The Health Board and everyone who has reached out to us, in recent weeks, it has meant the world to us and we really value the love and support we have received. Today is going to be a really difficult day but having this support will help us all.

Information

The surgery will be closing at 11.30 on Friday to give us time to prepare for Dr Yule's funeral. The current weather forecast says 31 degrees so please make sure you stay safe.

Following a discussion with the funeral directors we have been informed that the funeral director will walk down the full length of Durham Road starting at the crossroads by Boots. He has asked that people line the road from that point all the way up to the surgery please, if people can make sure they arrive before 1.10pm. Please leave the gates outside the surgery clear for staff.

There will be police and road closures in place during this time so I would advise parking away from these roads as it is going to be very busy and the road needs to remain clear for the cortege.

We have been so touched by everyone's kindness over that last few weeks, and we know that Dr Yule will receive the send off he deserves on Friday.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As some of you are aware we are currently going through a change of computer system, this is a complex change and will have limited access over the next few days, this together with Dr Yule's funeral on Friday will mean that we will only be dealing with urgent matters during this time.

Please note that from 12.00pm tomorrow we will have no computer system so will not be able to access your medical records. This also means that we cannot print any repeat medication.

If you would like to attend to wish DrYule a final farewell on Friday can we please ask that the gates outside the surgery are kept clear for staff to congregate. Either side of the gates will be fine but please keep driveway clear.

Reminder

We would like to remind you all that Dr Yule's funeral is to take place on Friday 11th July 2025. He will be making his final journey from the surgery following a line of procession along Durham Road and up Stafford Road between 1.00pm and 1.45pm.

We would therefore like to ask all those who knew him to please join us in saying a final farewell.

We expect there to be lots of people in attendance so there will be road closures around the surgery between those times.

Many patients have asked about whether there will be a charity they can make donations to in Dr Yule's memory, I can confirm that Dr Yule's family have set up a Just Giving page for Calon Hearts in his name.

We are all devastated by the recent loss of Dr Yule but we know he would be so grateful for the love and support not only to his family but to all of us at the surgery at the awful time.

Important information

As you are all aware Dr Graeme Yule sadly passed away on the 8th June 2025. We would like to inform you all that his funeral is to take place on Friday 11th July 2025. He will be making his final journey from the surgery following a line of procession along Durham Road and up Stafford Road between 1.00pm and 1.45pm. Dr Yule was a GP for over 33 years and during that time became very well thought of in the community and the Local Health Board, which has been evident from the kind messages, cards and flowers received at the surgery.
