💙 April is Stress Awareness Month 💙

Stress can affect us all in different ways, and it’s important to recognise the signs early and take steps to look after your wellbeing.

You might notice feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope, difficulty sleeping or feeling constantly tired, constant worry or racing thoughts, changes in appetite, irritability or low mood, or trouble concentrating.

Taking small steps can make a big difference — whether that’s talking to someone you trust, taking time to rest, getting outside for fresh air, or doing something you enjoy.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please speak to your GP. You are not alone, and support is available 💙

✨ Shining a light on our amazing Senior Physiotherapist, Cerys Watcyns ✨

Cerys plays a vital role in supporting patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. She primarily works as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, while also providing care on the ward for orthopaedic patients.

Today our Anaesthetics and Resuscitation Lead carried out an unannounced resuscitation scenario on the ward using our SimMan ALS manikin.

These surprise training sessions give our teams a chance to practise how they would respond in a real emergency. It helps build confidence, improve teamwork, and make sure everyone knows their role if a situation like this happens.

It’s a great way to learn in a safe environment and make sure we’re always ready to provide the best care for our patients.

Well done to everyone involved 👏

Our physio team were delighted to receive some fantastic feedback from one of their patients, Mark. Mark said:

“I’m currently in La Manga, Spain, representing the Wales Over 60s Veterans in a full 11-a-side football tournament.

We lost 2–0 to Northern Ireland and 2–0 to England, but drew with Denmark. I played in all three matches over four days, totalling more than two hours on the pitch. I’m pleased to report that my knee feels excellent, and I feel back to where I was pre-operation.

It’s been a fantastic experience playing international football, and I’m hopeful there’s much more to come.

A huge thank you to the team for all your work—it’s truly appreciated!”

A big well done to our physiotherapist Ioannis for receiving this wonderful testimony—great news! 🌟
