Home Ed at The Nook ✨
Today’s theme: “Our Place” — and what better place to draw than out in the gardens in front of The Nook? 🖍️

The winter sun made an appearance, so we wrapped up warm, grabbed our sketchbooks and headed outside. Cold fingers, warm hearts, and some absolutely beautiful artwork created in the sunshine. ☀️❄️

Swipe through to see the magic… including a bonus snap of Eleri rocking one of the kids’ fluffy fur bonnets. Honestly, iconic behaviour. 😂🧸

Creating, connecting, belonging — this is what it’s all about. 💛

Rainbows in Washing Lines and Cats in Clouds
A joy-filled creative writing and art workshop for young people exploring what we can do to help our mental health
Nov 24 from 13:00 - 16:00
The Nook, Perranporth

Event link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rainbows-in-washing-lines-and-cats-in-clouds-tickets-1968773694117

PLEASE NOTE: This session is intended for young people up to the age of 25.
Led by writer and poet Lucy Beckley with support from Make It Better’s founder, Ruth Purdy and Your Art Connect, Rainbows in Washing Lines and Cats in Clouds will be a joy-filled workshop of creative exploration, engaging our senses and creating unique pieces of poetry, cyanotype prints and collage.
We’ll explore where we can find joy, how we can use our everyday ‘ordinary’ as inspiration, how journaling can support us to process our emotions and use photography and collage to create unique pieces of art.
It will be an opportunity for all participants to think about what they can do to look after their health and wellbeing.
To close, we will all add to a ‘Rainbow Washing Line of Hope’ and ‘Constellation of Connection’ committing to hopeful actions to help our mental health and think about who we can reach out to when we need help
Participants will leave the session with a Joy List Poem, a cloud collage, a cyanotype picture and some creative writing prompts that they can use at home.
This session is intended for young people up to the age of 25.
This session supports Cornwall Council’s Mental Health and Engagement Project, which will contribute to and inform The 2026 Director of Public Health Report for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
