I am delighted to be guiding the closing ceremony for the first ever in the beautiful roundhouse sauna that is

Join me on the eve of the Chinese New Year as we bid farewell to the final shedding phase of the Wood Snake & welcome in the propelling energy of the Fire Horse.

A ritual like no other and a potent opportunity for one final shed of the snake skin, the piece that clung the longest but serves no purpose moving forwards.

As I guide you through four rounds in the sauna, let the Löyly prepare the body for the transformation. A bathing ritual of the elements to wash and cleanse what no longer serves and prepare for what’s to come next.

The festival is taking place in and around Penzance with a Cornish wide sauna trail for festival-goers across the half term week.

With 2026 just days a way, and the new year ready to swing into action, let us pause for a moment longer, gathering in the circle of the beautiful roundhouse sauna.

Join me on Monday evening for a two hour sauna ritual to ground us into the year ahead, setting intentions and shedding anything that is now ready to release.

Rituals at the roundhouse are a special kind of experience, with the potential of up to 22 participants, they are an opportunity to come together with your community in the sauna.

There will be rounds in and out of the heat, connecting with the elements and with Nature through whisks, scrubs and the Löyly.

| W H A T T O W E A R I N T H E S A U N A |

This week Julia has been diving into the vibrational frequency of fabric and how it might affect what we wear in the sauna.

Vibrational frequency refers to the electromagnetic waves that are emitted by everything, including fabric.

A healthy human vibrates at around 62-68 MHz so the clothes that we wear and the frequency they emit could either be having a positive or negative effect.

Natural fabrics such as linen and wool have a vibrational frequency of 5000 Hz, whereas synthetic fabrics such as nylon and acrylic are 0Hz.

In the sauna, the majority of us wear swimwear which tends to be synthetic, and so might be inhibiting our detoxification.

Luckily, there are alternatives out there, with 100% wool sauna hats, merino wool and linen sauna wear becoming more available.
