Hello, My name is Emma Byrne, and I’m the mother of two beautiful boys, Reuben, who is 4 and Chester, who is 2.

Twelve weeks ago, we lost Chester to B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. During his five-and-a-half-week stay, the staff on the Haematology Ward at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children became like family. What they do for children and parents is nothing short of incredible, and now, my husband David and I want to give something back.

We’re planning a series of charity nights and fundraising events to raise money for gifts for children and parents currently on the ward. Every single penny raised will be used directly for that purpose — 100% will go to supporting those families walking the hardest road.

If you’ve placed an order and haven’t collected yet, please get in touch as soon as possible to arrange collection.

We’ll soon be making a cheque presentation to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity, and it’s important that all funds are banked beforehand to make the biggest impact possible.

The amazing CFTKD squad from the Cathal Fegan School of Taekwondo are off to compete at the World Championships in Barcelona — and they’re taking someone very special with them.

Chester’s Chance is proudly displayed on every team shirt, with our little lion right there on their jerseys — a symbol of strength, bravery, and the incredible boy behind it all. 🦁💛

Chester may no longer be with us, but his spirit continues to travel, inspire and uplift. We’re beyond proud to see his legacy being carried onto the world stage by this talented and determined team.

Their 2025 team jersey is now available to order — and we’re so honoured that the Chester’s Chance Lion logo has been proudly added to the sleeve.

For every jersey sold, £5 will be donated directly to Chester’s Chance — helping us continue supporting children and families facing childhood cancer. And thanks to the generosity of Mr. Fegan, that amount will be matched, meaning £10 from every jersey goes straight to the cause. We’re speechless. 💛

If you’d like to order a jersey, please send us your size along with a £30 payment. Orders will close on Thursday, 3rd July, so be sure to get yours in as soon as possible! Jerseys will arrive 2/3 weeks from shop closure.

We’re proud to announce that the “Chesters Chance Lion” logo has been added to the sleeve of the jersey. For every jersey sold, £5 will be donated to the local charity “Chesters Chance”

This charity is close at heart to everyone at CFTKD. Chester was a brave and special little boy who sadly lost his battle against leukaemia. We are helping raise money to provide vital resources for kids and families facing similar circumstances.

In addition, Mr. Fegan will personally match that donation with another £5 per jersey, doubling the support for this important charity.
