A wee message from David & Emer:

“We would like to thank everyone for their kind comments. We are overwhelmed! It has been a privilege to serve this community. We are delighted that Dr Lauren Leslie will replace us; she will be fantastic.

We’re not quite finished with medicine yet.

David is heading off to volunteer in Madagascar with Mercy Ships (a wonderful charity that provides free life changing surgery in some of the world’s poorest countries: mercyships.org.uk) and then will be coming back to continue working in A&E at Dumfries.

Emer will almost certainly be doing some locum work at Cairnsmore in the future too, so she’s not hanging up her stethoscope entirely either.”

After more than 20 years of dedicated service, Dr Beattie and Dr Lennon will be retiring from Cairnsmore Medical Practice at the end of August 2025.

We are deeply grateful for their commitment and care throughout the years.

We wish them both a happy, healthy and well earned retirement together.

☎️ From Thursday 5th June, we are changing our telephone system (all numbers will remain the same).

This new system will allow us to routinely record incoming and outgoing calls for the following purposes:

📞to ensure compliance with procedures
📞to ensure quality control
📞training, monitoring and improvement
📞prevention of misuse
📞protection for staff
