We had a lovely afternoon yesterday exploring some different textures and feels.

For babies , touching and exploring IS learning

Here are a few reasons why it is great for little ones to experience sensory play:
🧠 Brajn builds connections
🖐️ Helps to develop fine motor skills e.g grabbing sand or squishing playdough
🌍 Helps babies to understand the world
❤️ Suppots emotional regulation
🗣️ Builds language development - vocabulary, listening skills, communication development

Watching things together and talking about what you can see will help your baby to learn what is going on around them.

⭐Top Tip - if you can, sit in a triangle shape with your baby where you can both see each other’s face and the thing you are playing with!
⭐ Point to the object you are talking about, so your baby knows the object matches the word.

“Wow! What a fantastic visit Nia had to Builth Wells Primary School yesterday. School staff were doing an amazing job of using visuals supports, such as a choice board, core board and now and next board with a pupil.

The class have implemented a total communication approach, which has supported this pupil to communicate with adults and understand what was happening next in his daily routine. Da Iawn!
