Fun in speech and language therapy today! Hayley, our SLT, worked with a child on producing the “f” sound in words using a fishing game to “catch” vowel sounds and blend them together to create lots of different words.

We had lots of fun exploring our different themes including ‘Rainbow’ where we learnt the importance of following our child’s lead as they play and in our ‘Farm’ theme we had lots of opportunities to comment using action words like “squash”, “dig dig dig” and “sprinkle”.

Learn the signs of stroke and act F.A.S.T – it could save a life

😀 Face- has their face fallen on one side? Can they smile?

💪 Arms- can they raise both arms and keep them there?

🗣 Speech- Is their speech slurred?

⏱ Time- to call 999 if you see any single one of those signs.
