It took me 4 years and 7 experts to realize that my neck pain wasnโt actually a "neck" problem. I remember sitting in my car after another specialist appointment, crying from helplessness. The therapist had just told me the same thing they all did: "Your MRI is normal.
Maybe you're just stressed? Try a massage."
I wanted to scream.
How could "stress" make my neck feel like itโs frozen?
How could it cause this constant dizziness that made me feel like I was walking on a boat? Every morning was the same. Iโd wake up with my jaw clenched so tight it hurt to eat. My shoulders were permanently hiked up to my ears. I had this terrifying brain fog that made me feel like I was viewing my life through a thick substance.
Iโm 38, I have a successful career, and today, I was scared to go to the grocery store because of my dizziness. It would hit me out of nowhere. A simple turn of the head, and the world would spin.
