FRY FRIDAY WITH FLOWERS.
As always we started our Friday with our dancercise class which was really good. Connie really got into it today and Sam enjoyed the music and moves. Erin wasn't so keen on the choice of tunes, especially Nathan Carter 😄🎶
Back at the HUB we had a flower arranging workshop. What talent we have in team East Coast. They were all amazing.
After lunch there was some free choice time before a mindfulness session to get us relaxed for the weekend. Connie chose to do more cards to relax herself. We believe in providing a person centred service so our young people get to choose what makes them happy.

THIS & THAT THURSDAY
We started our day by taking some books to The Warehouse Newtownards for their date with a book event. They kindly donated lots of gorgeous flowers for our flower arranging workshop tomorrow. We then went shopping for some garden decorations to add to the Warehouse garden on Monday. Back at the hub it was time for lunch then a short chill time and a bit of cake. We spent the afternoon framing some of our art work and got started on our card making. Our art work may not be the fanciest or look perfect but each and every piece is genuinely our young people's work which has been added to or enhanced just to finish it off. Connie had her very own wee card factory going on today and the results were amazing, she even had Callum sorting buttons and choosing paper for the cards.
We enjoyed a well deserved rest before home time.

WELLBEING WEDNESDAY
Today started with our circuits class which we always enjoy. We took advantage of the good weather and had a walk along the beach at Kearney. On the way back to the HUB we stopped off for some supplies to make sausage and bacon butties which were delicious. We sorted some books and household items and Connie sorted some curtains and material for the Warehouse Re-Loved Newtownards while the boys did the mountain of recycling. We all enjoyed a chilled afternoon and ended our day with a relaxing mindfulness session.

TRAVEL TUESDAY
Today we travelled to Tollymore forest park. We had a snack before we set out following the red trail. Erin enjoyed seeing the ducks at the duck pond 🦆. Everyone was very brave and went over the stepping stones and CJ was on hand to help when Connie got nervous. We had a lovely picnic lunch and a bit of a sing song from Callum and Sam 🎶 before we headed into Newcastle for a walk. Another great day of fun and laughter for team East Coast. 😊

FRY FRIDAY
Dancercise first thing today to get us all wakened up then the girls headed for Exploris and the boys got their fry. Back at the HUB we chilled for a bit then we did some painting and got some of our artwork framed and tassels were attached to our bookmarks. We are enjoying making and creating things for our summer craft sales. We had a visit from David and Judith Adair in the afternoon. We all had a cuppa and the young people told them all about the fun and antics at East Coast. Judith Adair very kindly donated lots of art supplies to us and we are very grateful. The afternoon was spent with Janine singing and dancing and Sam laughing so hard at he nearly fell off the chair. Connie made sure not to make eye contact with Janine incase she made her dance 🤣. Before we headed home we planted some forget me not seeds in our planter that were given to us by our good friend Karen Neville.
Another fun filled day with lots of laughter and craic.

THIS & THAT THURSDAY
Volunteering at Mount Stewart today and we were tasked with doing a litter pick around the lake and formal gardens. It was a great day for it. CJ headed home early and the rest of us had a lovely picnic lunch on the lawn at Mount Stewart. We then headed to Bangor to look for some small box frames for our summer craft sale & we got a new clock for the HUB.

WELLBEING WEDNESDAY
Today was a very relaxed day to recharge our batteries. We started by having a wee workout at our circuits class. We thought we should take advantage of the good weather so we had a picnic break in Nugent's wood and enjoyed a walk after. We then headed to Harrison's garden centre to have a look at all the garden ornaments to get inspiration for the warehouse garden project. After lunch it was time to relax with a cuppa and a bun before we finished the day with a mindfulness session which is always a firm favourite.

TRAVEL TUESDAY
Today was all about celebrating Connie's birthday. Connie chose to go bowling today. To say we have some competitive people in team East Coast is an understatement!!!! I think Llewellyn might be the most competitive though 😂 Super CJ was on fire today and won by a mile with 4 strikes. Llewellyn and Erin were using some dodgy tactics to put everyone off so they could win and Connie was loving all the banter. Callum and Sam were following the slow and steady approach which worked great. Such talent in our team. Connie chose lunch in The Parlour and it was absolutely gorgeous. A bit of shopping finished the day off perfectly. Great day of fun, laughter and so much banter.

COMMUNITY MONDAY.
It was all go today sorting the Warehouse garden. We brushed, raked, lifted, power washed and much more. Everyone worked really hard and we are delighted with how well it is looking so far. We enjoyed a lovely lunch of pizza and chips in the warehouse. When we were finished we delivered some donations to The Warehouse Re-Loved Newtownards. The shop is looking great and well stocked with some great bargains so I'd you are near South Street call in for a nosey. They are in real need of older children/teenagers clothes if anyone is clearing out.
We finished our day with a relaxing walk round the duck pond in the sunshine.
