The UK LifeLeague is one of Europe’s largest distributors of FREE Pro-Life educational materials. For over a decade we have researched, designed , produced and distributed millions of leaflets, brochures, magazines, DVD’s, CD’s videos to Pro-Lifegroups , schools and individuals throughout the UK, Ireland, South America and Africa. The LifeLeague has also been at the cutting edge of raising awareness on the abortion issue as well as exposing inappropriate sex education. Using high profile media events, pickets and demonstrations we have changed the face of Pro-Life campaigning in this country and beyond. Fifteen years ago no Pro-Life group in the UK would publically use graphic abortion images to show the public the grisly reality of abortion, thankfully we have facilitated change on this important aspect of our struggle, after all, if people do not see the truth, how can they ever make an informed decision regarding abortion? Over the years we have also produced literature in many different languages for Pro-Life groups in Hungary, Estonia, the Crimea and several more. These resources were supplied free of charge as part of our Pro-Life mission and apostolate. For many years we have also been involved in helping to establish a ‘Mother and Baby’ shelter in Hungary, near the Romanian border. Over the years we have supplied the finance and work parties from the UK and Ireland to help transform an old Soviet youth indoctrination centre into a facility where young University students can stay during a crisis pregnancy situation and continue their studies. Previously, abortion would have been the only choice for these young students. We have tried to replicate this set up elsewhere in Europe as well as providing respite for Pro-Life activists whom we found could suffer from burn out after many years of dedicated service to the Pro-Life cause. Over the years the LifeLeague has evolved in many ways, from being a solely ‘street organisation’ where we specialised in mass picketing of clinics to close them down or to seriously disrupt their ‘business’ into more of a resource facility for other Pro-Life groups and individuals. Unlike most other organisations we never charge for most of our materials, we research, design and print huge quantities of literature that we make freely available to anybody who wants it. Education is the key to stop the horror of abortion, we have always held to this and we still do. We also support a satellite counseling group who forged the path in online assistance. Economically this seems crazy but we rely on God’s providence and He has never failed us in all these years and will continue to operate our free to all policy as long as He provides the means. We no longer go in for large costly conferences and flashy web to promote our group, these things are very expensive and self-serving, instead we go about our mission quietly and efficiently, producing far more free literature than any other group in the country. The LifeLeague has always been the major target for the abortion industry and their powerful allies, over the years we have been accused of being violent extremists, fanatical Catholics, fanatical Protestants, Homophobic, Racists, Nazis, Fascists – you name it we have been called it. However, when the enemy are so vociferous about the LifeLeague, we know we are on the right track and that our activities must be impaction on those who would profit from the destruction of the Unborn Child. We take a stand against all attacks on the sanctity of life and the fabric of the family; we make no apology for that. Abortion, contraception, explicit sex education, gay adoption, euthanasia, we stand firm against all these attacks on the Christian ethos. Our ‘old fashioned’ position does not make us popular in these days of compromise, liberal thinking, even among some Christians but we do not exist to be popular or liked, the LifeLeague exists to fight for the sanctity of life and the family and in this modern world that is no easy task. Today as the Christian faith becomes increasingly irrelevant to large sections of our youth our task is all the more urgent and needed and as long as our supporters, members and friends continue to partner us in this work we will fight just as hard today as we always have. With a new generation of activists now taking over we are confident that our mission will continue stronger and more vibrant for many years to come or until the national shame of abortion is recognised for what it really is.
