The weather has been great which can mean getting stuck into the garden. Our biggest piece of advice is, make sure you are wearing protective eye wear.

Every year around now we see an increase in eye injuries caused in the garden. Some minor which heal in a few days, some more serious which can have long term effects, but trust me, they are all painful.

Get a pair of safety glasses, ideally a wraparound style. You can buy these in B&Q or on Amazon and the yellow tinted ones increase contrast and can be really good when pruning.

Don't forget that most chemicals can be really harmful for your eyes but especially any designed for patio cleaning. Again always wear protective eyewear to prevent splashes from getting into your eyes.
