Well folks here's the update on the bmw failed rear susspension, replaced the damage air spring and the opposite side so it gives the customer peice of mind. Replaced the compressor which caused the air spring to pop and because the new pump came with the relay fitted that also. We carried out the relevant height adjustments on the air bags and cleared the faults. Needless to say we have one happy customer as bmw wanted over £2500 just for the parts. Another GVS happy client.

Bit of an odd week this week, quite a lot of variety of jobs. We had a brain teaser of a bmw with air suspension issue, unfortunately due to parts required we are waiting on parts from online. Will post results soon.

Bmw customer complaint traction control light flashes on, drive the car like miss daisy and the light stays of but give a little power dash lights up like a christmas tree in Blackpool. No faults listed on the computer but readings do say a lot variations at the rear wheel indicates there is an issue with the rear abs pick up rings and abs sensor. Parts ordered will update once complete.

Here's today's culprit, yet again gets you second guessing. Is it a vauxhall or a renault, the symptoms were hard start in a morning,

checked for feeds from glow plug module and to the module all seemed OK tested the glow plugs. Found resistance in number 3 and 4 glow plugs but not quite open circuit.
This wasn't the only issue as the Egr was jammed fully opened.
Replaced both the glow plugs and cleaned out egr valve and all faults cleared without needing cleared. Happy days, another happy customer.

Must have just been an ABS week, here's a couple more from this week.
One was easy enough which was a simple case of replacing damaged sensor. The other not too easy as there was no actual fault listed within the ABS system.
This is why we have to look at readings to diagnose.

Needless to say both customers happy again.

Here is one of today's issue cars. Customer complained of ABS light on dash board constantly. Carried out diagnostic and found various faults listed please see next video.

Main aspect is the ABS had logged a fault for the sensor on passenger front. When we checked for readings we had zero reading on passenger front then drivers front would read perfect.

Replaced ABS sensor and cleaned reluctor ring for the signal as part of the repair.

Something we get asked regularly is can you service my vehicle. This isn't down to the customer not knowing their own car, it's not being given the correct knowledge when buying a new vehicle.

On modern cars in most recent years sometimes the service or spanner light doesn't always mean its a service that is required. Sometimes this is a general warning on more modern motors that indicates one or more systems have picked up a fault and it's letting the driver know.

We have saved customers much unduly costs of a service when it's simply a case of plugging the vehicle in to read the data.
