I have gained a few new followers recently, so I thought it was time I reintroduced myself and my personal yoga journey.
Hiyerrr, I’m Kim 🙋🏻♀️ I teach yoga asana, pranayama and meditation in Hull and I bloody love it!
I first tried yoga in the 00s because a Spice Girl did it. Yes, I am of that generation. Do you remember when Geri brought out a yoga DVD (possibly a video)? I remember my body feeling so light and stretched out. It was a great antidote to teenage angst.
Naturally, I didn’t do it again for years.
Eventually, I returned to the posture practice in my early twenties because I had back pain. A friend told me to check YouTube for hamstring stretches and there she was… Yoga with Adriene ready and waiting with 30 days of yoga.
What started as a physical practice has, over the years, intensified, transformed, faded, disappeared, returned and deepened - not necessarily in that order.
Yoga for me is now a physical and mental practice of self-enquiry, stress relief, awareness and presence.
I’ve been teaching for 3.5 years and I chose to teach because I want to share theses wonderful gifts I have received.
✨ You don’t have to live in a state of stress.
✨ You don’t have to live without compassion.
✨ You don’t have to live in the past.
So many people have commented on how much I’ve changed. Still me, but different.
Less ego perhaps, less worry maybe, definitely more compassion.
You deserve to live with love, positivity and peace.
For me, it all started with yoga.
