🔒 Who you talk to matters.
We’re told everywhere to “talk to someone” — and yes, mates can be great for a laugh and support. But here’s the truth: mates aren’t counsellors.
They might not know how to handle what you share. They might see you differently. Sometimes they even pass on what you told them in confidence. And that can do more harm than good.
A counsellor is different. Bound by confidentiality, trained to listen without judgement, and equipped to actually help you work through the tough stuff.
