Spent some time outside in nature this morning walking the dog. Only got a little rained on, but when the sun came out it was lovely! We even saw this little robin who sat and watched us go by from a fence.

Have you spent any time outside yet today? Take a deep breath of that crisp winter air and pause for a moment to take it all in.

Day 2 of Brett Larkin Yoga’s Evolve yoga challenge done ✔️ lots of movement (as you can probably tell from my messy hair!) to simulate the chaos of life, then managing and moving through it to find stillness. Followed up with a 10 min mindfulness meditation was the perfect ending 👌

Take time for yourself in this busy run up to Christmas.

It’s all getting a bit hectic with lots still to get, stuff to wrap, food to cook …. The list goes on. This ice and cold has felt really annoying as I’ve had important things to do! But it’s actually made me slow down and in doing so notice the beauty of the season!

Look at the beauty of nature, take a deep breath, laugh with friends, get your nails done… just take some time for you and slow down a bit. You are just as important as everybody else!

Tonight we put up some Xmas lights (feeling festive after going to an Xmas fayre at Yendell's Health & Wellness Hub) and I lit a few candles which reminded me of a fab little meditation called Candle Gazing! 🕯

It’s beginner friendly, you just get comfy, light a candle and concentrate on looking at the flame. Set a timer for a few minutes and keep looking at the flame. When thoughts creep in just draw your attention back to the flame. Obviously blink or look away if your eyes start to sting! When the timer goes off, shut your eyes and you should see the image of the flame on your eyelids 🔥 keep concentrating on it and notice how other thoughts just drift away because you are focused on that flame. If the image fades before you are finished just open your eyes and gaze at the candle again.

Practice makes progress, and that is definitely true for meditation! Give it a go and let me know how you got on!

Take a little time today and do something for yourself. Whether that is a little study time, bake a cake or simply breathe some fresh air.
