LITTLE REFRESHER ABOUT THE TEAM 🙋‍♀️AND WHAT WE OFFER HERE AT HEAR EASY 👂

Traditional ear irrigating service providing home visits in the Scarborough, Filey and surrounding villages.

👂Full PPE Donned (vaccinated )

👂Current practising NHS Staff with qualification in Ear Care
👂DBS cleared
👂7 days a week (evenings/ weekends)

The procedure

👂Initial visits can be provided (if required) to check ears for wax using an otoscope which is a pain free process of shining a light within the ear canal.
This service is £15 and is only required if you are unsure your hearing loss /issues are related to serum build up - if this has already been confirmed by a healthcare professional an initial visit is not required.

If at the initial visit wax blockage is confirmed Hear easy will provide you with olive oil ear drops and return 7 days later to irrigate your ears.

👂At your Ear irrigating appointment your practitioner will require minimal space with a chair, plug socket and water supply.
You will be asked a host of questions (if no initial assessment has been completed ) to check for suitability and a consent form will be completed with your practitioner following a discussion regarding the procedure.
Ears will be irrigated using Pro pulse ear irrigator, using warm water to gently irrigate the ear canal at a regulated pressure.
This process should not be painful and for most offers light relief.

Founded Hear Easy LTD when the local CCG withdrew funding to allow Practice Nurses and District Nurses to provide this vital service across Scarborough and local areas.
Completed Degree level Ear Care course over 10 years ago at Hull university.

👩 Amanda (Independent Ear care practitioner)
Holds HNC in health and social care and has been working within the community district nursing teams for the last 19 plus years. Currently practising within two specialist nursing team for the NHS.
