The Christmas period is upon us! With it may come moments of stress and exhaustion. Yoga can help us relax and stop us from reacting too quickly which may be followed by regrets if we react out of character or harshly.

If this sounds like you, here is a free fun option to consider!

Take 30 minutes or an hour and enjoy a doodle session by yourself for yourself.

If doodling is new to you, download this free doodle guide that will show you in 5 easy steps how to doodle and the benefits to your body and mind.

Does it sometimes happen that you struggle to get going with a task?

Call it procrastinating, tired, overwhelmed or just lack of motivation…..

How do YOU overcome that?

In my case I have learnt, be kind to myself in thoughts and actions and just ride it out for a while. Let it sit in the subconscious mind for a while and then suddenly voila….. I can start with renewed enthusiasm and get it done in no time!

I honestly can’t explain that!

If anyone has an explanation I would love to hear it.

This was my task this week that got done, not perfect but done!

Fortunately, I did have some moral and other support…. 😊

What is the most important thing in life for you?

My husband always said, for him it was to be happy because then everything else will follow.

At the time it really did not make sense to me, but now that I am getting older, I agree with him!

I find it’s often the little things in life that brings me joy and happiness!

For example, this morning there was a light drizzle (absolute bliss in the African heat and drought) and then….., as I was driving out of the village where I live, I came across cows crossing the road and causing traffic to stop.

A moment to reflect and just enjoy my surroundings with appreciation for where I live.

😊 What makes you happy? 😊

I would love to hear from you. Please like and comment below.

I mentioned change many times this year and again today because due to change, I needed a bit of quiet time to get my thinking on track again 🤭

The past year meant moving countries, sorting through personal possessions, coming to terms with personal losses but also the promise that an end also signals a new beginning.

How I coped with all of this?
⭐️ gratitude in my heart
⭐️ a regular breathing practice, especially 4-7-8 (more on this later)
⭐️ meditation or quiet reflection in my garden
⭐️ definitely yoga
⭐️ AND friends and connections

Change is one of the most challenging aspects of life for me.

🌟 🌟 How do you feel about change? What strategies do you deploy to cope with change? Do you like change? 🌟 🌟

Below I am sharing a few pictures that remind me of the changes this past year and one of hope …. adventure? Let me know what thoughts and emotions it may awoke for you….

Please like and share your thoughts in the comments. I would ❤️ to hear from you….

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

A big welcome to my new followers! Jane Burd Jill Annables And a huge thank you to all my loyal followers!

Let me know how I can serve you ❤️

I’ve already taken my doggies for a walk, worked in my garden and washing is on the line. Now perched on my favourite spot overlooking my vegetable garden, drinking my one cup of coffee of the day.

My heart is filled with gratitude 🙏

🌟 ♥️ What is your favourite morning drink? 🌟 ♥️

Happy Friday everyone!

Ever wondered what it looks like on the other side of the Zoom cameras during a yoga class?

This is my typical setup…. Please note the doggie bed! We are often joined by either Woodie, my rescue dog or Busia, my rescue cat on my end and other pets on the yogis end too!

The yoga seem to have a calming effect on the animals too because they normally sleep like babies while we are doing our yoga thing 🧘‍♂️ ❤️

Wishing you all a peaceful Friday and weekend!

🧘‍♂️ ❤️ Starting my day with such a lovely compliment from two of my regular yogis who attend a weekly, mat-based subtle yoga class: 🧘‍♂️ ❤️

‘To be honest, Anne Marie, I don’t know how I would have taken to yoga if it had been in a bigger class and with a different instructor - smaller groups are so much better as you can tailor the lessons to our needs, and the way you deliver the lessons, always with such a calming voice, I don’t think there are many people with that gift!’

‘I know I am very lucky to have met you both and totally agree with Helen on the amazing yoga program you do. I miss it when I can’t do it.’

Thank you for the kind words Helen King and Caroline Coxon Always dedicated yogis and loyal supporters, not to mention our friendships that developed over the years ❤️ 🧘‍♂️ x

Yoga has been so life transforming in my life. On the 24th of October it will be 7 years since my husband past away. Yoga and my connections through yoga helped me regain my desire to continue with my life. It gave me the mental and physical strength and resilience to get back to a happy place again.

It is this magical power of yoga that I love to share with my fellow yogis.

Regardless of where you may find yourself and how ever 'un-yogic' you may feel your body is, yoga is available to everyone who wants to bring about change in their lives.

There are three options to start, all are on Zoom from the convenience of your own home:
- Chair-based: No special clothes or equipment needed. 2 x 30 minute sessions per week. (£25 per month for 11 months with 12th month free)
- A 10 week Yoga4Health programme that was commissioned by the NHS in London
- a weekly one hour Subtle Yoga session where we start 30 minutes early for a chat, a catch up and start of new friendships , followed by a gentle yoga session. (£25 per month for 11 months with 12th month free)

All the session close with a breathing practice that helps build resilience in the nervous system and brings calm during times of stress.

If you would like to give this a go, then please contact me to discuss how we can make this happen. There will also be an option to try it out for free before you commit.

Please like, share or comment. I would love to hear from you.

Action is the key to success, however small it may be. One step in the right direction can serve as an empowering motivator, regardless of what task or goal it may be!

Recently, the kitchen cabinets in my rental property needed some attention. These are real oak cabinets and although not exactly in vogue, still very good quality in providing ample storage space - thinking environmental impact too.

I decided to sand them down and revarnish myself. It was a daunting task!

Yet, I started........and finished the task.

I felt great. I fell in love with the cabinets, the kitchen and the house again!

My point being, by taking the first action steps towards a goal, feel good endorphins are released and that serve as a great motivator to continue.

How do you motivate yourself when you are facing an overwhelming task?

Please like and share your experiences.
