I am so excited to have been successful and will be talking in this years 2023 Children’s Mental Health Matters Summit along with some amazing speakers.

I will be talking about a topic I have personally lived through as a child and see everyday within my work as a Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist.

We as a community need to build relationships, talk more and support others.

Children’s mental health has risen drastically over the past few years.

Our children need our help today.
So if you want some extra knowledge, or want to learn more about how society is effecting our next generation or maybe you work with children, your a parent, teacher, nurse or any kind of caregiver then this is for you.

We will be covering everything from birth right up to the troublesome teenage years.

Be sure not to miss this amazing event

🤍Mindful Monday🤍

🌸Cancer and its treatment can be a stressful time for the individual and their family. Practicing mindfulness and relaxation can help calm your mind, reduce stress and sharpen your ability to concentrate.
We want to achieve ways to reduce stress and feel more peaceful.

🌸Being mindful is about slowing down and paying attention to what's going on at that moment, some benefits are listed below...
Reduce stress, anxiety and depression
Increase positive emotions and enjoyment in daily life
Encourage healthy eating habbits
Improves relationships
reduces parenting stress
Helps people stop smoking
Improves sleep

🌸I will be focusing on different strategies each week.
What will you be doing for yourself this week?

🌸Lets all chose one thing today to achieve over the weekend, below are a few ideas, let me know what you have planned this weekend...

Country walk, maybe with family, your dog or just you
Read a book, we are always so busy, schedule some time in a delve into that novel
Run a bath, candles, lots of bubbles
Listen to some music

Children’s Mental Health Week

💫Around 1 in 8 children and young people experience behavioural or emotional problems.

🔅Talk openly with your children about anything and everything.

🔅Be aware of behavioural changes. Such as mood, sleep, eating habits, decreased interest in activities, low self esteem, difficulty managing emotions, and behaviour out of character.

🔅Find ways to encourage socialising. This can be gradual, offer positive reinforcement, lead by example, be supportive and have fun.

🔅Help with schoolwork. Maybe make a study schedule to incorporate routine and again make it fun.

🔅Prioritise sleep, poor sleep increaystress and negativity.

🔅Exercise, this can help reduce stress, improve sleep and improves overall health.

🔅Teach relaxation, there are so many free yoga classes for children.

🔅Encourage them to talk to their teachers, they can offer support and guidance.
