🌟 Finding Our Voices at The Haven! 🌟
Today, in our Soundabout session, we explored vocal pattern-making — a beautiful way for our clients to connect, express, and communicate.

Using the “Coax me to make simple patterns in sound with my voice” activity card, we encouraged small sound-making moments… and celebrated every single one. 💙✨

🎶 What this looked like today:
• Noticing and responding when someone made a sound — even by accident
• Gently encouraging new vocalisations through touch, rhythm, and shared presence
• Giving BIG praise when a sound pattern emerged
• Recording these moments so we can celebrate progress together
• Building confidence through joyful, playful sound exploration

Every voice matters. Every sound is communication.
And here at The Haven, we honour every step. 💛

🎃✨ Spooky Sensory Magic at The Haven! ✨🎃

Our Halloween celebrations at The Haven Multi Sensory Care Day Centre were filled with color, texture, and a sprinkle of spooky sparkle! 👻💫

From shiny, glitter-filled ghosts and sparkly bats 🦇 to our enchanting woodland magic wands 🍂🪄, every creation came alive through touch, sight, and imagination.

Using soft papers, glossy foils, crunchy leaves, and natural twigs, our wonderful participants explored a world of sensory delight — transforming simple materials into beautiful, tactile art pieces that truly capture the spirit of the season. 🌈🍁

🎃👻 Halloween Soundabout Magic at The Haven! 👻🎶

Today our Soundabout session took a spooky twist! Using the idea “Encourage me to respond to your sounds by making my own,” we filled the room with rattling chains, howling winds, and bubbling cauldron beats 🧙‍♀️✨

Our participants explored sound in their own way — echoing, drumming, humming, and laughing along as we created a Halloween soundscape together. 💜

At The Haven, we celebrate every voice and every sound — because communication isn’t just about words, it’s about connection. 🫶

✨ Sensory Storytime at The HavenMulti-Sensory! 📚💫

Today we had a magical sensory story session, bringing “Room on the Broom” and “Creepy Carrots” to life! 🧙‍♀️🥕

Using lights, sounds, textures, and themed props, we created an immersive storytelling experience designed to engage all the senses. From exploring real carrots to watching the gentle glow of the sensory torch, everyone had the chance to feel part of the story. 🌟

Sensory stories are a wonderful way for the people we support to connect with books in a meaningful, hands-on way — encouraging interaction, communication, and lots of smiles along the way. 💛

🎶 We had a fab session today with our wonderful Soundabout families! 💛

We explored music in all its forms — playing fast and loud, then quiet and slow — and had so much fun experimenting with sounds together. 🥁🎵

A special highlight was the Jaws theme… 🦈 everyone loved it!
Lots of smiles, laughter, and beautiful music-making all around.
