✨ How I style my curly hair – step by step ✨
1️⃣ Cleansing
I start with shampooing.
Curly hair is usually dry, so I choose a shampoo designed for dry hair.
(For me OnlyBio works best because it’s gentle and doesn’t strip moisture.)
I always shampoo twice:
– the first wash removes daily dirt and buildup
– the second wash cleans the scalp more deeply and removes all styling products
2️⃣ Detangling & leave-in care
After washing, I detangle my hair using a wide-tooth comb — this helps prevent breakage and protects the curl pattern.
Then I apply a leave-in conditioner (from the same brand or another professional one). I personally avoid strong fragrances, as I’m sensitive and allergic to many chemical ingredients.
You can detangle again after applying the leave-in conditioner.
3️⃣ Drying with a diffuser
Next, I dry my hair using a hair dryer with a diffuser, gently scrunching the curls.
I usually flip my head upside down and lift the hair with the diffuser from bottom to top.
My hair is quite short, so I often move the diffuser over my head — it helps define shorter curls, especially at the back.
4️⃣ Final styling
At the end, I apply a curl cream for Afro / textured hair — I personally use Cantu.
I scrunch the hair and leave it slightly damp so the curls can form naturally on their own.
