Hi I’m Claire. In 2020 we changed our perspective on life and how we wanted to live as a family. We love being outdoors, hiking and exploring nature.

I am a Wife, a Mum and the writer of Actively Happy Family; Our family blog sharing our love for outdoor adventures, nature and exploring the world. We decided to grab life with both hands, make every experience count (no matter how big or small) and really appreciate every day together. We made huge changes in how we work to allow us the flexibility of working online, so we can travel and homeschool our daughter, Isabella. Isabella learns so much when outdoors. Our homeschooling follows a child-led way of learning, including outdoor play, discovering nature and us really supporting Isabella’s natural curiosity and interests. We love discovering new places and know there are so many amazing lessons to be learned through meeting new people, exploring different cultures and seeing the world. We love being able to share our journey with you and hope you enjoy seeing our adventures, as much as we enjoy living them.

Salt and Smoke 💨

We went to such a fun event last night, which was run by .theatre We followed a trail around Blyth town centre where we learnt all about the history of the town and the people who have lived there. The actors were wonderful and it was so nice to see history come alive!
