It's believed in my practice that during winter you plant your seeds to give them time to rest, and become one with the universe during the season, and then in spring you will see the results of your efforts.

This Christmas, we’re seeing independent businesses close all around Nottingham, places that helped shape the city’s character, culture and creativity.

Our thoughts are with , an institution that stood in this city for nearly 30 years.

Running an independent shop right now is harder than ever. Costs rise. Promises fall short. And every single day it costs more just to open the doors. Over the last few years, we’ve fought tooth and nail to do things differently. We’ve championed real vintage, handmade, and true independent sellers, not fast fashion, not copy n paste retail.

We’ve kept moving forward, refurbishing three floors over two years, investing heavily to make Hopkinson the best version of itself. A place where there is genuinely something for everyone, across all three floors.

This year, our proudest achievement has been creating a new hub for small independent sellers, with affordable shelves and spaces so people can showcase their work without impossible overheads.

That decision didn’t just support new makers

it stabilised the wider shop, added a new demographic, a new revenue stream, and protected our long-standing vintage sellers too.

And here’s our promise to you:

If you continue to invest in us, we will keep investing back.

We will keep building.

We will keep evolving.

And we will keep waving the flag for independent businesses loudly and unapologetically.

We're one of the last true city centre vintage shops. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

And this city we all love deserves to keep these jewels of Nottingham..
