I've seen so many gorgeous back to, or first day of school post this week from some of my previous clients.
It is so wonderful to see all of these children that I met as bumps or newborns, grow up and thrive.

But I have been reminded through these pictures, that my very first antenatal class babies are turning 11 over the next few weeks and are entering year 6!

Where on earth has that time gone? I can't be that old can I 🀣

Good luck to all of my inHale (or Daisy for you oldies) babies whatever year of school you are starting. I know you will all be fabulous πŸ₯°.

I'm probably late to the party on this. But I am visiting the new Starbucks on the A52 just outside of Radcliffe, as a last day of holidays treat for my daughter.

And look at all the beautiful space πŸ₯°. How amazing would this be as the venue for the post baby class coffee meet? So much room for your prams, while mums enjoy a caffeine based treat and a natter.

Perfect for when my Saxondale classes return in two weeks time.

One week out from surgery and my recovery kit looks suspiciously like it did after my births.

My new must have for any hospital stay are the ear plugs and lavender filled eye mask. They made sleeping on the ward so much easier.

Hot and cold pads for body and perineum have been amazing once more.

A peri bottle is an absolute must have if you have external stitches in intimate places.

Incontinence pants work so well instead of (or as well as) sanitary pads in the early days as they feel so much more secure (although these ones smell so badly perfumed I'm not sure if would recommend this exact brand 🀒).

I will start the arnica to help clear up my bruising just as soon as I have finished my course of blood thinning injections.

Oh and an honourable mention to Lactulose (not shown here), but it's a god send for keeping the post birth or surgery poos comfortable.

Let's help fellow mums to be out.... what were your ride or die recovery tools?

I been placed on a ward in the maternity unit of City hospital after my hysterectomy and prolapse repair surgery yesterday.
It's taking me all of my restraint not to pop downstairs and offer to be a free doula to any birthing or newly postnatal mums as I am a little bored stuck in bed πŸ˜†.

The curtains here take me straight back to 15 years ago during my own birth that caused the damage they fixed yesterday. This is why I am so obsessive about teaching you guys how to protect your own pelvic floor during pregnancy and birth 😊.

Perinatal education and preparation matters for the long term not just for the big day.

Pause of births and inpatient postnatal care at St Mary’s Birth Centre, Melton Mowbray

From 7 July 2025, births and inpatient postnatal care at St Mary’s Birth Centre in Melton Mowbray will be paused due to safe staffing challenges and low birth numbers.

πŸ’¬ Community antenatal and postnatal care will continue

🏑 Our home birth team is still available

πŸ₯ Midwifery-led care also continues at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Leicester General Hospital

We are contacting those directly affected to discuss alternative care arrangements and are supporting all impacted staff.

Detailed work with partners to determine next steps will now take place and is likely to take up to six months.

Hayley, Did you need a new speaker for your Antenatal & Baby classes?

No, I didn't 🀭, although in my defense my current speaker has been through a lot in the past 11 years 😬.
But how could I not be influenced to buy a new speaker? Not only because it produces a great sound and is robust enough to face anything the babies can throw at it... But mostly because it is in my brand colours 😍🀩

What has been your most recent impulse buy?

In 2017 this was the day my Wriggly Daisies pirate ship inflatable was delivered. My kids absolutely loved testing it out for hours.
I can't believe that it is still going strong in my baby classes 8 years later.

You know you are an Antenatal teacher when....
..Your kitchen sink looks like a hot tub party in the morning.

Last night was week 5 of my comprehensive Birth to Baby course. We moved on from all things birth to all things newborn and we were having fun bathing, dressing, grooming and changing the babies before getting them ready for bed.

As well as taking part in this session during the full 6 week course. You can also join this and my infant feeding class by booking them as stand alone workshops. This is especially useful if you have already had your birth education elsewhere or if you want a quick refresh of these skills if this isn't your first baby.

I have another Birth to Baby course coming up on the 16th April perfect for those late may to late July due dates.
I have an infant feeding workshop next Wednesday where you can learn all things breast, bottle & formula feeding.
And my next Newborn workshop, to play with this little baby gang and their friends is on 14th May

I also have pregnancy yoga classes that can be booked as a block or on a pay per session basis in both Nottinghamshire and Grantham.

And a range of friendly, supportive baby classes each week if your little one is already here.

I still adore this picture of my daughter at 11 days old on this day in 2013.
I think the screaming was in protest to the headband - she has never appreciated the way I dressed her 😁.

What are your favourite baby photos?
