As a parent or caregiver, staying informed about scoliosis is key. This spinal condition affects 2 - 3% of children, most often during their pr***en and teenage years when they’re growing quickly. Early recognition can lead to better outcomes. Watch for these signs in your child:

- One shoulder blade or side of the ribcage jutting out more
- Shoulders that seem uneven or make clothes look lopsided
- A waistline or hips that don’t match up, making pants fit awkwardly
- The head tilting away from the center of the body
- One arm hanging lower or farther away when your child bends forward
- Hips that are not level

If you are concerned about any of these signs then please contact us to book in for a consultation

Do you or your child have signs of scoliosis? Identifying the underlying type is crucial for effective treatment.

Here are the most common forms of scoliosis:
• Idiopathic scoliosis: The leading type, often showing up around puberty without an identifiable cause, though genetics may play a part.
• Congenital scoliosis: Results from spinal abnormalities at birth.
• Degenerative scoliosis: Typically affects adults through degeneration

Watch for these symptoms: Uneven shoulders or hips, a visible spinal curve, or ongoing back pain.
