📣 Important Meningitis Vaccine Update

There is currently a meningitis outbreak impacting University of Kent students in Canterbury, Kent. We want to ensure our patients understand the latest NHS vaccine guidance:

➡️ Children born from 2014 onwards will have received MenB as part of their routine vaccines, provided they attended their GP immunisation appointments.

💉 MenB vaccine schedule:
• Given at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 1 year old
• Missed doses can be given up to age 2

💉 MenACWY vaccine schedule:
• Given in school at age 13/14
• If missed, it can still be given by your GP up to age 25

🚨 New NHS England Update
From today, NHS England has requested GP practices to support Canterbury, Kent university students who are eligible for the MenB vaccine to receive it.

If you are a university student who has recently returned home from Canterbury, please:
👉 Contact your GP surgery to check if you are eligible and to book your vaccination.

For any other patients, there has been no further national guidance at this time, however please speak to your local pharmacy for information on how to obtain the vaccine.

Struggling with sleep? This World Sleep Day let us support you to getting a better night's sleep.

You are not alone and support is available. Nuneaton & Bedworth Primary Care Network is proud to offer patients registered at any of our 11 member practices direct access to Sleepstation, an NHS supported digital sleep service that is free to access and has no waiting lists.

When we sleep better, we live better. That is the message behind World Sleep Day, and better sleep can have a real impact on your health, mood, concentration and overall wellbeing.

Sleepstation offers:
✔️ Personalised advice and practical tools to improve sleep
✔️ Screening and assessment to guide you to the right support
✔️ Evidence based methods including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Insomnia when appropriate
✔️ Human led guidance and follow up for up to 12 months
✔️ Completely online and easy to access with no GP appointment needed

If poor sleep is affecting your everyday life, this service can help you make long lasting improvements.
