I would highly recommend this lady to anyone who has proplem areas with there horse, wants to build a better relationship or would like to learn how to do ground work for correct movement and core strength. I have had the pleasure of working with her for my own reactive horse. She really understands horses! I have also worked on her horses as a therapist and can report that they (even as they are getting older) have amazing range of movement and core strength, proving how groundwork exercises really work!
Why Groundwork?
Groundwork with horses takes lots of forms and has become more and more popular over the last few years. Whether you want to focus on how your horse moves, build their confidence, teach them something new or just have a bit of fun there’s so many options for things you can do with your horse without riding.
Personally, I like to do at least one and usually two sessions of groundwork with my horses every week. It gives me a chance to check on their movement and suppleness. It gives them a chance to exercise without me on their backs, and is often an opportunity to have a bit of fun!
Weekly, I like to look at how my horses are moving both on the lunge and loose. Doing this helps me to spot changes early and respond to them before it becomes a problem.
Liberty training also gives me a chance to check in with how my horses are doing mentally as well as physically. Do they want to play or are they fed up?
There’s something really fun and freeing about working with your horse at liberty, it’s more than just sending them around the arena loose or having your horse follow you. It’s setting up a whole communication so they know how to come to you or go out, jump a jump, change direction or just hang out with you for a bit 🥰
