COMING SOON: Do you know the symptoms of ovarian cancer? A new NHS ovarian cancer roadshow will be visiting towns across , so pop in for a chat if you see the van. Pick up a symptoms diary and info & learn more.
It is visiting areas across Greater Manchester in the last week of February and throughout March to tie in with Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
See www.thisvancan.co.uk for dates and locations.
The roadshow – a partnership between the NHS, Target Ovarian Cancer and the Dianne Oxberry Trust - will offer information, quizzes and videos to help increase understanding of ovarian cancer. There will also be symptom diaries so people know how to record any symptoms they might be worried about ready to start a conversation with their GP.

It’s Cervical Cancer Prevention Week.
Cervical cancer is a cancer that's found anywhere in the cervix. It's most common in women aged between 30 and 35, but it can happen at any age.
Alongside the HPV vaccine, cervical screening can help prevent cervical cancer by checking for high-risk HPV. So, it’s important you attend your appointment when invited.

The bowel cancer screening age has now been lowered to 50 in England. This is welcome news for our patients as the practice and its GPs continues to support the screening programmes at home test. If you would like any information or have any questions about completing the test, please contact the surgery and ask for Ollie

We welcome the announcement by England that they’re expanding their bowel cancer screening programme to those aged 50 in England 👏

People aged 50 and over, who are registered with a GP, will start to automatically receive an at home test every two years by post. This marks the final phase of NHSE’s ambition to offer everyone aged 50 – 74 the at-home test.

Bowel cancer screening is one of the best ways to detect the disease early, and in some cases prevent it from developing in the first place. The disease is treatable and curable when spotted early, which is why the screening programme plays a vital role in improving cancer outcomes across England.
