⚠️ Recent reports from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have highlighted a concerning rise in botulism cases due to unlicensed Botox-like products being used in cosmetic procedures. With 38 cases recorded in England's East, East Midlands, and North East regions, it's crucial to ensure your safety when considering anti-wrinkle treatments.

Botulism is a serious, life-threatening condition caused by toxins from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria, a component of Botox. Symptoms can take up to four weeks to develop and may include difficulty swallowing, slurred speech, and breathing difficulties.

To protect yourself and ensure you receive safe and effective care, follow these guidelines:
✅ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: A proper face-to-face consultation should be conducted by a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or nurse, before any Botox is prescribed.

✅ 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Ensure your practitioner is qualified and can provide proof of their credentials. They should be willing to discuss their qualifications with you.

✅ 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁: Always ask for information about the Botox product, including its brand and intended dose. The product should be licensed for use in the UK.
