The government has today announced its initial response to the 2023 consultation on non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and BABTAC welcomes the proposed plans to crack down on unsafe treatments.
As one of the key industry bodies to feed into the consultation, we’re proud to see our continued campaigning for safety and regulation reflected in these proposals.
💬 “We believe this decision will help bring the clarity, protection and regulation we’ve long been calling for - and reassure consumers navigating our industry,” says our CEO & Chair MBE.
Proposals include:
👉 New licensing for clinics offering injectables
👉 Only qualified healthcare professionals to perform high-risk treatments like BBLs
👉 Age restrictions to protect young people from social media trends
BABTAC will continue to represent beauty professionals as further consultations take place, and we’ll keep you updated as the legislation progresses.
