🐌 Liver Qi Stagnation is one of the most common patterns treated by acupuncture. It is especially common in individuals who sit at a desk for long hours and those who deal with stressful circumstances or repressed emotions.

🩸 In traditional Chinese medicine, the liver stores blood, and liver Qi is responsible for smooth release of blood. Therefore liver Qi stagnation causes many symptoms in the body where blood struggles to reach its destination.

✨ Acupuncture is highly effective at treating liver Qi stagnation and promoting the smooth flow of blood at stagnant areas in the body. Along with daily movement, management of stress and emotions and deep breathing exercises, liver Qi stagnation can be avoided.

✨In TCM, the lungs are not only responsible for respiration but they descend and disperse Qi and moisture throughout the body. They play an important role in immune defence and since they interface with air inhaled, they are vulnerable to attack by our external environment.

✨Acupuncture points on the lung channel are used to address many symptoms including coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, asthma, cold/flu symptoms, sore throat, blocked sinuses, low mood, grief, chest tightness, dryness in the body, shoulder/arm pain.

❄️In the colder months it is common to suffer from a stiff neck especially after spending time outdoors.
🌬️In TCM, this is can be due to an invasion of wind-cold. Acupuncture point Fengchi located at the nape of the neck known as the “wind pool” is a vulnerable point for wind to attack.
🧣Invasion of exterior wind can also lead to flu-like symptoms such as chills and fever and therefore it’s important to keep the neck covered with a scarf when out in the cold.
💆🏻If you notice a stiffness in your neck, you may benefit from using a heat pack on the affected area and booking a treatment for acupuncture and cupping to ease tension in the local area and restore the natural flow of Qi and blood.

Rest is especially important at this time of year during the winter season of low energy. For some this is the busiest season of work and celebration, however in nature, this is a time to slow down and conserve resources. By prioritising rest over burnout, we can benefit our physical, mental and immune health. 🤎

🧶Stagnation of Qi and blood in the channels can cause many symptoms in the body including pain, stiffness, fatigue, digestive issues, insomnia, high blood pressure, and negative emotions such as irritability, anxiety, frustration and repressed anger.
⚡️Acupuncture works by needling specific points along the channels in the body to unblock stagnation and promote the free flow of Qi and blood.
🧘🏻By doing this, acupuncture relieves pain, shifts the nervous system into a relaxed state and restores natural healing pathways within the body.
🍃Receiving regular acupuncture treatment can help to combat stagnation caused by overwork and stress and promotes a sense wellbeing.
