What is PROPRIOCEPTION, really?
It’s our “internal sense”—the ability that helps the body know where it is, how it’s moving, and how much force it should use.

Thanks to proprioception, a child can:
• grip a pencil with the right pressure
• judge how high to jump
• walk without tripping even with eyes closed
• focus better and regulate emotions more easily

How can we support it?
Through movement, resistance, deep pressure, and full-body activities!
Simple play at home—carrying groceries, jumping over pillows, wrapping up in a blanket, or walking on a sensory path—makes a huge difference!

Proprioception is the key to better coordination, balance, and confidence.

Occupational therapists & Speech therapists always have a container of play dough in their therapy bag…there are just so many benefits of play dough. Squish, squeeze, pinch, flatten, roll, cut, stamp, and mold and other fine motor playdough activities are just a few of the ways children can engage with play dough. It’s a classic modeling compound that is timeless, holds popularity, as well as longevity in childhood development.

Play dough serves as an exceptional tool for children with ASD, promoting sensory engagement and emotional regulation. By providing a tactile and creative outlet, it fosters focus and calmness, creating an optimal state for learning and development.

🌟 Small Group Reading Intervention: £25 per hour

We now have an opening in our Saturday reading intervention session from 1 PM to 2 PM!

👉 Each group is limited to just 4 students to ensure personalised attention.

👉 This session is ideal for a P5 student who may be struggling with literacy or have dyslexia.

Join us for focused support in reading for just £25 per hour with our dyslexia specialist teacher Alicia.
First come first served as we usually have lengthy waiting lists for spaces to become available with Alicia.
