Through mindful meditation we can, with time, learn to sit with our emotions. We can bring the 9 attitudes of mindfulness to this practice, including acceptance, non-judgement and letting go/letting be.

Awareness of thought patterns, together with meditation and mindfulness tools can change the way you experience everyday life.

The 6-week course is 6 x 1-hour sessions, 7.30-8.30pm, £90.

This is held in-person in my calming Mindfulness Studio in Orpington BR6, just ten mins walk from Orpington station, or online using Teams.

Bringing awareness to what we are doing, and the spirit in which we are doing it, can alter the physiological and psychological experience of the activity for both ourselves and others.

Breaking out of 'automatic pilot' can disrupt habitual patterns of attitude , such as 'getting through' a task, which can subconsciously contribute to negative thought spirals.

A lot of the things that happen to us in life are outside our control, just like the weather.

We have a core nature which can be resilient to the inevitable changing nature of life. However, very often we naturally identify directly with our thoughts and emotions.

The way in which we interpret life’s happenings can help us to develop an equanimity, a calmness of mind and an ability to respond rather than react.

In this quote, identifying as the sky rather than the storm can give a sense of emotion passing through. You don’t need to fix the weather to be OK.

Mindfulness can help us to develop this way of being.

With practice, your experience of life can shift, whatever is going on for you. This comes through awareness of your thoughts, emotions and sensations, together with the attitudes of mindfulness. Mindfulness tools can bring this awareness into your everyday life, whatever your lifestyle.
